bert baker
Hi to all Precedent Stampe owners, Over the years I have had numerous Stampes From Precedent and one Svenson. I have tried OS 120 four stroke standard and pumped, Various Saito 120's,Lasers all 150's and finally my current one has a old Zenoah G38 on mag, One of my mate is currently using a DLE 30 on his, I have noticed Slec's new kit is being rated as Zenoah 38. I have been running in a NGH 38 in another airframe with a view to try it in the Stampe So who has what combination
Jon H
Laser 180 running 20x6 prop.
Alan Gorham_
OS GF40 petrol four stroke, 20 x 8 prop. I have seen a couple of others with Zenoah 38s fitted and they seemed a good match.
bert baker
What max rpm's are you getting
Jon H
About 6700 on mine but the prop im using is like a railway sleeper and not very efficient. I would normally expect 7k when using a 20x6 on our 180.
Gordon Whitehead 1
Anyone wanting to be really adventurous could now try a turboprop http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-jets-120/11643338-p20-turbo-prop-piper-pawnee.html
Alan Gorham_
I have never measured rpm on mine as I don't particularly care how fast the prop spins. It flies the model well with an ample power reserve and is quiet and economical to run. I have read on other fora the poeple have measured 6750rpm on a 20 x 8. Don Fry
Bert, what did you use in the Svenson Stampe. I've got an airframe, and I am thinking of using a NGH 25 two stroke.
bert baker
I flew it on a Saito 120 Golden knight, It was ok but no frills,I would go minimum of 30cc two stroke

bert baker
There she is, I can't claim to have built it but was ok, I prefer the Precedent one, one thing I have learnt is that with my yank and bank style of flying, rigging wires are a must, The Svenson being a two piece wing you can't get away without them

John Lee
I has a OS120FS in mine, which was fine. In the dim & distant past I flew one with a Webra 61 geared 2 stroke, anyone remember those?

Gordon Whitehead 1
BTW, what weights are these various large Stampes coming out at? I think the box tops say about 14lb but I find that hard to believe with the size of the model.
Tomtom39
My first was with a Laser 120 , Second had a very well used Laser 150 fitted (now residing in a 1/4 Pilot Tiger moth.). The 150 seemed to be the better choice .

Its a tiny bit faster than the glow in actual fact when you use a big prop. As for the webra geared motor, my Dad has one at home. Oh and for weight my stampe is 14lbs dead on the nose if i remember rightly. I will weigh it again next time i fly it.
Scott Notman
Hi All Firstly thanks to Bert for starting this one as I have just got a Stampe kit from Slec. I was thinking of a Saito FG 30 but now I see this could be a little small so now thinking of the FG 40. cheers Scott

My Laser is 29cc and I take off at only half throttle. Even then its too fast for scale. Anything 20-30cc is more than adequate and you certainly don't need more. Its not a pitts after all
Scott Notman
Thanks Jon will give it some thought glad we have this forum to think things through. Cheers Scott
Michael Denest
I'm thinking of either a OS .90 Surpass, OS 1.20 4S or Saito 1.50 Golden Knight. Covering's gonna need a little work first.
ChrisB
Saito 125, 15lbs, scale flying. Could do with a 150/180 for a bit more go!
cymaz
It will depend on the final weight. If you build very light a 120 would give reasonable performance. If like me you build heavy a 25-33 cc will do nicely. With the Precedent kit make sure the centre sections are well braced.
