throttle problem

This is the throttle range setting procedure for the majority of ESCs.

1. Take the prop off.

2 Set the throttle full, switch on the tx

3 Plug in the plane battery. The ESC should emit several beeps

4 Completely close the throttle.

It should emit some more beeps and the ESC will arm. Check the motor starts to run as soon as the throttle is opened..

Disconnect the plane battery, switch off the tx and refit the prop.

The esc programming button has a red and green light and it is not possible to programme the esc when both lights are showing, it can only be done when just the green light is on. I have both lights showing and I cant find a way to turn off the red light. There was no information in the build instructions about programming the esc. I have emailed Graupner but am not hopeful of getting a reply. Can anyone out there help.

Not familiar with this equipment myself, but you can download the esc manual from Graupner here.

The instructions are in three languages with German first, so you will need to scroll down a bit for the English.

Hope it helps.

Dick

Edit - 3 ways to find out how - what a hlepful lot we are!

Copied from the manual - I think you have the condition in bold below -

The basic operation on the ESC when the power is on.
Stick safety location ( throttle minimum ) Do,Re sound.
Note) after ONLY hearing Do and Re~~~~ or Do,Re~~~Do,Re,Mi sound, you can set Stick position or Programmable mode
setting.
• LED status during operation.
Full Throttle : Red LED on
Neutral : Green LED on
Full Reverse or Full Brake : Both LED on
Error : Red LED flashes

You need to go back a stage where I think to change you need to press and hold the switch for over 4 seconds -

Programmable mode setting
1. Turn on the transmitter.
2. Connect the power battery, then the ESC should be automatically ON.
3. If all wire connections are correctly connected, the motor should beep depending on the throttle stick position as like :
Do, Re ~~ Do, Re, Mi : When the throttle stick in the stop position.
Do, Re ~~ : When the throttle stick is NOT in the stop position.
4. If you press and hold the switch for over 1 second the Green LED should flash and if you continue to press and hold the switch for over 4 seconds, the Red LED should flash. At this stage, if you release the switch, the ESC should beep Mi, Re, Do,
Re, Mi sound and the Red LED should flash once constantly to indicate that the ESC is now in the programmable mode setting.
