cymaz
Believe it or not, I’m going to build one of THESE when I finally get to retire.... I have several 3 view plans already and construction drawings.
Alan Hilton
There are several Chilton plans about, Boddo did two sizes. There are larger size plans available too I built a 30 % one which flys well and looks good in the air Alan

Martin Harris - Moderator
Posted by Tom Sharp 2 on 05/11/2019 01:26:57: There are some nice Miles prototypes. In the interests of avoiding any confusion, the Miles Atwood Special had absolutely no connection with Miles Aircraft Ltd of Great Britain. Leland (Lee) Miles and Leon Atwood were based in California USA and had quite a lot of success with this tiny aircraft. I built a 1/3 scale model from the Colin Prior plan a few years ago which emphasised just how small the real thing was - and the pilot, Lee Miles, was a very tall man! Sadly, the original was destroyed, killing Lee Miles, after the wing failed when a flying wire snapped during a hard turn on a practice run. A replica was constructed much later with the assistance of Leon Atwood.
Peter Miller
You need Mendenhall's book "The Air Racer" which is full of 3-views of the era. Personally I like the poist war Goodyear and Formula 1 racers I have two books crammed with Hirsh 3 views of these aircraft, Not cheap but great books. I have designed several models from these. Robin Colbourne
Napier-Heston Racer? There's a control line version on Outerzone which would give the shape: Napier Heston Racer More here: Napier Heston Racer History
kc
Miss Los Angeles might suit - there are different sizes on Outerzone such as this one A 30 inch one by Pat Tritle is here. A rather similar Brown B1 is available as a Radio Modeller plan from Sarik Edited By kc on 05/11/2019 14:57:04 Edited By kc on 05/11/2019 14:59:
Dad_flyer
There is a list of the 170+ Peter Miller designs in this thread. There must be several good racers in there. My favourite 1930s racer is the Percival New Gull at the Shuttleworth. 50" or 25" plans on outerzone, oz6402 or oz3566 (control line). No idea how well they fly. kc
There is a smaller earlier version of Miss Lizzie called Tequilla Sunrise with 36 inch span. The plan is on Outerzone in the USA RC Modeler version( slight differnces to the Radio Modeller version?) Similar in looks is the TR-6-AL but with a differnt wing section. It seems to me that Tequilla Sunrise or Miss Lizzie could be restyled to a Miss Los Angeles or Brown B1 lookalike by just simplifying the fuselage to a slab sided inline engine style which might suit electric quite well. ( or has Peter Miller already produced an inline version of Miss Lizzie?) Peter Miller
Miss Lizzy and Tequila Sunrise are really based loosely on the Travelair Mystery racer. Of course one lot that hasn't been mentioned is Benny Howards Ike, Mike and Pete. Very sleek and the full size where highly aerobatic as well. Miss 57 from Sarik is a Howard look alike. They still list it as a plan
