Evening all! Well, another eventful race, with typical British summer weather playing a big part in things! Let's have a look at how we all scored today; Pos League Rank Team Manager Pts 1 4 1 The JP Specials johnpflyrc 185 2 3 0 Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 178 3 7 1 PSS Power Flyer 150 4 11 0 LetsGoTotoLetsGo GrumpyGnome 149 5 14 1 Gyronut F1 The Gyronut 141 6 12 1 DMFC Racing Team Simon Webb 139 7 5 1 Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 137 8 6 0 Iqonic racing iqon 136 9 1 0 Hidden Cucumber fat brownie 134 10 9 1 Essex Racing Tony Clark 133 11 13 1 teewrex John Tee 119 12 2 0 Pitts Specials john stones 116 13 8 1 Revers Racing Pete B 113 14 15 1 Torque of the devil Stu 97 15 10 1 Mannschaft Carl Brotherton 88 And just to prove that we all get things right eventually - I top today's results with 185 points. Second is Kev with 178 points. And third is Ade on 150 poins. Well done to Kev and Ade! And to GrumpyGnome who missed third by just a single point. Looking now at the overall table after today's race; Pos League Rank Team Manager Pts 1 1 0 Hidden Cucumber fat brownie 1957 2 2 0 Pitts Specials john stones 1859 3 3 0 Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 1769 4 4 1 The JP Specials johnpflyrc 1747 5 5 1 Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 1714 6 6 0 Iqonic racing iqon 1691 7 7 1 PSS Power Flyer 1675 8 8 1 Revers Racing Pete B 1662 9 9 1 Essex Racing Tony Clark 1640 10 10 1 Mannschaft Carl Brotherton 1612 11 11 0 LetsGoTotoLetsGo GrumpyGnome 1560 12 12 1 DMFC Racing Team Simon Webb 1537 13 13 1 teewrex John Tee 1520 14 14 1 Gyronut F1 The Gyronut 1477 15 15 1 Torque of the devil Stu 1469 And there's no change in the top three today, with fat brownie holding onto top spot from John S and Kev. But there are several place shuffles down the table. I move up a place to 4th, pushing Charles down 1 to 5th. Ade moves up 1 to 7th with Pete dropping a place to 8th. Then Tony moves up 1 to 9th at the exense of Carl, down 1 to 10th. Simon also moves up a place, to 12th with John T down 1 to 13th, and finally The Gyronut moves up 1 to 14th with Stu dropping 1 place to 15th. Next up is Belgium, but that's not until 3 weeks time, on 25-27 July. -

A bigger foamboard build - Miles Hawk Speed Six
Lipo Man replied to Lipo Man's topic in Own Design Project Blogs
Not the first time the angle of my dangle has been questioned. It’s an old mountain biking injury, but I don’t like to talk about it. 🤣 Anyhoo, on with the build. Now the gear seems OK I’m sorting out wing skins for the inboard sections. Looking OK except needs a smoother curve on the leading edge. Just need to decide whether to bother fitting flaps or not. On the one hand I really doubt it will need them. On the other hand, a final approach with flaps deployed would look great… - Today

Having recently started using a 4 in 1 multiprotocol transmitter where I can use receivers from most protocols on one unit. Especially on the toys where you get a basic one use transmitter and if you buy another toy, you get another tx, and worse having to put batteries in all of them and knowing which was which. Also, if you buy a plane with a rx in it, and no tx, especially a built in board, it is useless without that tx. So , for example, you want to use a tx for the Topmodel £89 planes. research and find the protocol, set up, bind and can use that to fly that plane. The purpose of this thread is to build a base knowledge and database of what plane is what protocol and for future reference be available to all. Example #1 The ME109 pictured has its own transmitter but can get it to work using a DSM Sat and also the protocol code: On "Multi" the protocol is : V119S and sub protocol is E119

Welcome to the forum Jim. The Chris Foss website has details of the electric conversion for the Uno Wot which is almost the same model I think. This shows rather lower power motor and Lipo than the 4Max site.

Today was the first time that the wings were put together in anger. They’re upside down but Brian and I were building the wing spar pockets. Everything seems to fit ok😳 -
If the Seagull super skybolt with a saito 100 is anything like the Seagull Hurricane (IMO a right dog) then I am not surprised its a lot of hard work. My Seagull Mosquito is not a pleasant flyer and does some rather odd things at times. A look through the internet will see a high proportion of SG Hurricanes & Mosquitos that don't last very long. I watched a video of the SG Super Skybolt being flow and three things came to mind, first it got off the ground very quickly (like my Hurricane & Mosquito, secondly the video is edited (normally because they don't want to show you something) and lastly it seems to come in very quick for its landing with corrections to get it down. It used all of the runway and scrapped a wingtip to avoid ploughing into the grass. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Probably because the sellotape stops the air getting to the glue 🤔 -
What ever it is it's a beauty 😍

I often sellotape my cockpits down, and even the 'cockpit glue' can take 3 days to dry. -

Any idea what it is, other than petrol. Thanks, Paul

Less is more. The glue works well but the more of it, the longer it takes to clear. 24 hours is fairly normal, but it can take longer sometimes. -

Hi I’ve had it take longer, depends on how thick the bead of glue was. But it normally does go clear in 24/48 hours. S
