Craig Carr
Never ever seen the Lanc flying and for it to come directly over our club field unexpected was one of those "never forget moments". Its on our club website home page now.. Thanks to Dale Woollett for capturing the moment so quickly. Dale has a better quality version then the compressed one he sent to me by email. Will replace it with the better version tomorrow. BVRMC Club website click here Edited By Craig Carr on 26/07/2014 19:08:
Chris Bott
Brilliant - well captured as you say! I'm trying to work out how I can see the "Two Lancs" when the Canadian one is over here soon. I did see BBMF at Duxford a few weeks ago at least.
Colin Leighfield
Great pictures Chris. I've got silver tickets for Duxford on 14 September so hope to see the two Lancasters there. Perfect opportunity to get some practice with the new Nikon and telephoto, can't wait!!
malcolm woodcock 1
I used to visit my parents in a small village in Northumberland called Eglingham. It must have been under a north - south flight path because the amount of times I'd hear a Merlin and see Spitfires, a Hurricane and a Lancaster sometimes in formation some times on their own, a wonderful sight. I heard the recognisable merlin sound once and it was a Mustang passing overhead. I considered myself blessed but some people wouldn't even look up as they passed overhead. Glenn Stratton
I heard a rumour that the Canadian & BBMF Lanc's are flying over The Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre's Lanc, is it does a fast taxi run down the runway, and it has been known to 'accidently' get airborne, so could be a great photo opportunity! I've seen the BBMF Lanc many times, but it's always something special to see. Can't wait to see it and the Canadian Lanc flying together next month. I believe it was the Sunderland Airshow today, and there's usually an airshow in Edinburgh the same day, so I guess the BBMF was probably en route between the two. John Privett
I've just watched the BVMRC video of the Lanc overflying them - fantastic, and well done to the video man for getting it from so far out! I'm sure Ken won't mind me putting a link to it on here. Edited By John Privett on 28/07/2014 19:50:

Terence Lynock
Been many years since anyone got this close to the FW190 a-8 that used to hang from the ceiling in the Imperial War Museum, now on display at Cosford I think it has found a proper home with many other WW2 aircraft and better still in the centre of the country where more aircraft enthusiasts from the north and midlands can get to see it' It has undergone a good examination and refurbishment although the glossy finish doesnt look quite right but we cant have everything......
Daithi O Buitigh
Well the glossy finish is as accurate as the side windows in the Wellington - it's a Mk X and it's not supposed to have the long windows of a Mk III (not to mention the pillar box red, perfect squares on the Spitfire and Hurricane gunports - they were never nicely squared off - they were patches of fabric slapped on by Erks with red primer (which is more a brick colour)
John Privett
I was at the RAF Museum in Hendon today. Here's a couple of shots of their FW-190. I don't think it had the gloss finish that the Cosford one seems to have.

Daithi O Buitigh
If this is any help, I scanned it from a book I have (it's the one in the USAF Museum in Dayton)
john stones 1 - Moderator
Thanks Daithi, I have loads of books on it, sadly I don't have the talent to build it to a standard i'd want John
Terence Lynock
As Cosford is only ten minutes away the way my missus drives I will probably go over again over the next two or three weeks and get some more photos of the 190, not sure how much it will help me as I am weighing up the idea of a Ta 152H-0 long wing as a PSS bird at 1/12th scale.
Erfolg
I have built a very semi scale 152h. The major discrepancy is around the cabin, which I have considered rebuilding a few times. I have found it to be a fine flyer. From memory it is about 1/10 scale.
