Paul Williams
After a full day fitting the flaps on my topflite kit I wired them up to check for binding and movement.

Alan Cantwell
oh dear, swap one of the servos for a hitec, if they are futaba, or a futaba if they are hitec, i remember a mate of mine, with a glens foam build extra, zenoah 45 up front, i arrived for the test flight, to see a glowing pire, the fire was just dying down, what happened? says i, took off, both ailerons going up together, i was told it was a very i teresting 10 seconds, oh dear again, and how many of us have had the ailerons going the wrong way? or been inverted, full bore, and pulled instead of pushed? Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
Just wire the ailerons up as flaps - no one will ever notice BEB
Paul Williams
should have known, no empathy, just one sensible solution offered. Thank you that man. Some times I think your not taking this hobby serious Where can I get a servo revearse lead.
Martin Harris - Moderator
Any decent model shop should have one - or be able to get you one...
Alan Cantwell
another 2 sets of conections? just try the differant servo routine first, just compare the specs, and go for it,
Ross Clarkson
Paul, Cant you just use the Tx and mix the two channels?
Tim Mackey
I suspect he has them on a Y lead - in which case either swapping the physical positioning of one of them so that it effectively reverses direction, or use the reversing gizmo in one branch of the Y lead is the only option. Steve W-O
Or just modify one servo to work the other way.
David Davis
Or put the pushrod on the other side of one servo output arm.
Marko
hi all one simple solution is to turn one servo over so the output arm is on the same side as the other one , reverse the servo arm then connect to the Y lead and they will both travel in the same direction ! you may or not have to check you servo reverse on your trany first and knock your rats back to 50% at first hope this helps Marko
Alan Cantwell
putting the pushrod on the other side of the arm will cause the pushrod to be at an angle, this will alter the geometry of the linkage, (both sides will get the same amount of movment, but get there at a differant time) it would be neccasary to move the control horn as well, if the harpoint is built in for the mount, this may not be possible,
Marko
Hi Alan your right then I guess Paul has a bit of work to do but that is the best way of getting the flaps to work , hopefully the horn can be moved , he could even recentre the servo ? and share the differance ??........... marko
Tim Hooper
Posted by Marko on 12/03/2011 09:24:22:.....and knock your rats back..... I like this approach best, although the Rodent Protection League may take a dim view. tim
Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
I agree Tim - any problem and the first thing I do is to ensure I've fully knocked all my rats back and I take it from there really! I mean, the last thing you want in a crisis situation is a foward rat, as I'm sure many would agree BEB

Frank Skilbeck
If your flaps are on a switch, then one of these may be good http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewitem.asp?idproduct=8863 Not only can you reverse one servo but you can adjust the speed as well. Out of stock at HK at present, but a couple of UK suppliers also sell them.
