Forgive me for asking but what is the point of signing the petition? Please don't get me wrong; I am all for keeping flying things flying but, looking at the facts here, the decision to not allow extra flying has already been taken and this is a strange knee jerk reaction.

Flying has not stopped and the statement of "Unfortunately we have a loud mouthed woman protestor who prevented the airfield being used for commercial flying." is completely incorrect ;

The woman made a verbal complaint to the council "A spokesman for Suffolk Costal District Council confirmed they had received one verbal complaint about the flying of the Spitfire but said the individual concerned never formally followed up the inquiry in writing."

Please also note that this was three years ago!!

Commercial flying was not given permission in 1999. That decision was upheld on 13 May 2014. There is nothing to suggest that flying is being stopped.

Before I get boo'd and have cabbages thrown at me for saying this please note I am all in favour of flying but the petition being signed is based on incorrect info from what I can see.

This has absolutely no effect on flying at Bentwaters so what am I missing?

It doesn't hurt to express strength of feeling, so I've signed it. I've spent a lot of time around there and attended the last air show at Bentwaters/Woodbridge in September 1992, before the USAF pulled out and the based was closed. Very sad, before that I used to sit in the garden of my in-laws house in Woodbridge and watch F16s and A10s among other things coming in on finals.

Woodbridge has the longest runway in the UK and the combined bases were seen as strategically significant during the cold war, the way that things are going we might need them again.
