Tubes for Servo Leads
jrman replied to Nigel Heather's topic in Building from Traditional Kits and Plans
Supermarket cake icing and marzipan are rolled on a very lightweight plastic tube about 20mm dia. Perfect for servo leads, you just need to get your "pinny" out and start baking!😉 -
Japanese Industry Standard (JIS) are indicated on the screws by a small stamped dot on the head. The correct drivers fit far better than a Pozi or Philips.
-
Use Isopropyl Alcohol to thin epoxy.
-
Hot toast, butter and Bovril. Cold toast, butter and marmalade.😋
-
Rub the litho plate with soap. Heat it and when the soap turns black it's annealed.

Glad they sorted you ED.

Send it to Mike Ridley https://modelradioworkshop.co.uk/servicing/

I modified a BT P40, using dowels instead of the metal plate with no problems at all.

KK Falcon Covering
jrman replied to Skippers Walker's topic in Building from Traditional Kits and Plans
SIG Koverall is excellent. I covered quite a few models with it and never had a problem with it slackening off after is was heat shrunk and doped. -
https://robart.com/search?x=0&y=0&q=foam+wheel+inserts Still available but not sure if in UK.
-
Robart used to sell foam inserts for their scale wheels. Not sure if they still do.
-
I have stopped using switches with built in charging jacks as the volt drop across the switch can be excessive. Not sure why this is but I have measured over 1volt drop even with expensive branded switches.

Try Pyramid Models. https://pyramidmodels.com/shop/

You could have set the engine further back and used a spacer behind the prop. Probably too late now.
-
I haven't received the email in order to confirm my subscription.

I've used both Spectra and Guild. Neither work in my experience, certainly not with 10% nitro. If you want total fuel proofing then use epoxy paint or clear.

No it sounds OK. 50 cycles per second is 3000 revs per minute. Is the prop very shiny as sometimes reflections can give false readings. Try reading from the rear of the prop.

I've used this with good results both in an ultrasonic cleaner and for cleaning down after flying.(diluted 50/50 with water) http://www.rhinogoo.co.uk/

Try searching for "Frisket Film". It's available in various widths and lengths. Not cheap but is used extensively in air brushing.
