That 10 channel Rx appears to have the ABC&W system which JR claimed was different to dual conversion so would it have had a different crystal.

Is that a sheet of lead for ballast behind the engine mount, just be aware, if it is, lead will squeeze under pressure and the bolts may come loose, ask me how I know.

This from the Daily Express... https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/2062454/uk-s-most-beautiful-village-plagued I can absolutely guarantee that none of these drones are registered and that the regulations are completely useless in controlling them also, any further restrictions on our activity will ignored by these rogue operators.

Fibreglass Re-enforcement tips
Andy Stephenson replied to GoodersGold's topic in Building from Traditional Kits and Plans
This was my approach to the Wot4 U/C problem. Admittedly it's on a kit built version but it's far less vulnerable to a rough landing. It requires internal reinforcement to the fuselage sides. This design was pioneered by Boddo and has passed the test of time. -
UKCAA @ Buckminster - FRIDAY 6th June 2025
Andy Stephenson replied to Martyn K's topic in UKCAA Events
Martyn can confirm this but I think it's only appropriate to fly aerobatic models at this meeting although, they may not necessarily have to be of the period if you are not actually competing. If you are interested, come along with something to fly. There is a new novice category this year which includes optional coaching. The whole style of the UKCAA is low-key friendly meet-up and fly. http://www.ukcaa.org.uk/ -

Sundeala takes multiple pinholes close together without crumbling like plasterboard, it's better for long-term use. -

Do we have any idea of where any of the remaining stocks of parts JE had when the closed down went.

I would suggest the opposite as adding a woman to your insurance almost always drops the premium. I added my Mrs to mine and even though she had two minor motoring offences, the premium went down. A mate added his friend's girlfriend's to his insurance to lower the price but he said he'd never let her drive his car as she was a terrible driver.

Some do in fact filter out the obvious ones, if my ISP lets them through at all they are directed automatically to my junk folder where I can safely ignore them.

I was a visitor at a club when one of the members saw me with my phone in the pits and tackled me over it. I protested, saying that the signal produced by a 2.4GHz transmitter is very similar to a cell phone so it's not likely that the transmitter would interfere with itself. This didn't cut any ice with the member so I put my phone in the car. At my own club this used to be rule but since nobody takes notice of it any longer, there have been no incidents which have ever been put down to phones on the field. It seems that as far as safety is concerned, it's a better policy to have a phone near at hand in case of an emergency.

There's a fellow who advertises on the BMFA classifieds to repair stripped glow-plug threads. The ad is not on there right now but there will be someone on this forum who will be able to tell you more.

Toe-in works because the forward swinging wheel turns more sideways to the direction of travel, therefore creating a braking effect on that side pulling it back on track. Conversely, the rearward swinging wheel has less drag creating the opposite effect.
-
Make sure there's some toe-in on the undercarriage. This will stabilise the direction of travel on the take-off run.

Found in a skip
Andy Stephenson replied to Cliff Bastow's topic in Model Engineering and Accessories
All the substantial metal framed workbenches in my workshop had been turfed out from one place I worked because they were tidying up the factory with new stuff. A friend of mine also was allowed to help himself so that was two workshops provisioned with industrial grade furniture at no cost. -
Found in a skip
Andy Stephenson replied to Cliff Bastow's topic in Model Engineering and Accessories
I got my mini compressor out of a skip at work. I had it signed off as scrap so I could take it home, the establishment I was working at were over-sensitive on security. Once I had it home I tried it and it worked only nothing came out of it. On investigation, I found that a non-return valve had been fitted the wrong way round and it had been skipped from brand new because no one in that department had the gumption to sort it. -
My first foamie - caproni ch1
Andy Stephenson replied to shepeiro's topic in Own Design Project Blogs
This problem seems more like a loose wire than a motor fault. It's worth checking the connections before changing the motor or ESC. -
The battery would be a lithium primary battery, the type used in clocks, watches etc. Mercury batteries were phased out years ago. CR 2032 batteries are available most places, supermarkets and the like.
