John Privett
John - the day is "lop-sided" (technical expression!) and the nights have been getting lighter since around 13th December. Meanwhile sunrise continues to get later until about the end of the month when it starts getting earlier again. The total daylight hours will start to increase though as of tomorrow. (Today had 1 second less daylight than Monday!) More details here if you want the exact times...

John Privett
You're in the "wrong" part of the world, BEB. (For various values of "wrong"!) It's been wet, windy, windy, wet, windy and wet down here in the south-east this winter. But not cold. (Yet!)
kc
I am sceptical of some of the spelling here because it must be a hate crime to insult Druids!

According to the UK Met office it began on 1st Dec and will end on 29 Feb. I'm going with that definition and so will be in my shorts on March 1st........ Chris Barlow
We're on the up slope now to brighter nights and colder weather to put an end to the wind & rain and freeze the strip hard as concrete for some wheelie landings!
