John - the day is "lop-sided" (technical expression!) and the nights have been getting lighter since around 13th December.

Meanwhile sunrise continues to get later until about the end of the month when it starts getting earlier again. The total daylight hours will start to increase though as of tomorrow. (Today had 1 second less daylight than Monday!) More details here if you want the exact times...

Don't you listen to the septics John - I can feel its getting better in me bones! We'll soon be flying on barmy evenings, pottering round the sky as the sun slowly sets,.... can't wait. Its been a cold, wet and very windy winter!

BEB, I'm very sorry to inform you that the winter has just begun...wink

With all due respect, I feel that a moderator shouldn't be advising ignoring our cousins from across the pond!

cheeky

(In case of any confusion amongst those hailing from the further flung reaches of the world, such as Australia, South America, Outer Mongolia, Yorkshire etc. google "cockney rhyming slang for septic" )
