Chris Barlow
Posted by Martin McIntosh on 05/07/2016 15:05:29: Just been asked to be in Zagreb on Sunday. Told them to b----r off in case the forecast improves. One has to get one`s priorities right. Good man! I reckon the forecasters are guessing so far and we'll get a better indication Thursday. Even then I've seen the wind blow itself out overnight before.
cymaz
Well, wined and dined and bedded down in Walsall. Off to Stratford Friday. The weather for Saturday and Sunday is showery. Hopefully the showers will pass more to the west of Greenacres.
Dylan Reynolds LaserCraft Services
well the BBC weather predict doom and gloom, accuweather predict light showers and only 30% chance

Ian Jones
Hmm, my cold isn't so bad today and the weather forecast for tomorrow looks as if it's improving. I might still make it, decision in the morning I suppose.
Martin McIntosh
Got there yesterday and managed a flight with the Stampe, not too pleasant. Rain stopped about 11 today to be replaced with a near gale force wind. I did not even bother to register or take the models out to display, packed up and went home. Shame because a lot of effort was put in by the local club as usual. I`ll try the August event. Martyn, I shall have to see what it is doing tomorrow and may appear at the Worcester `do`. Simon Feather
John, sorry to have missed you - there were 3 Ballerinas there today. I flew quite a few times after the rain stopped about 11ish - breezy but not impossible, and my Ballerina coped admirably, Fairly quiet day, I'm guessing the weather put a lot of people off - certainly no problems getting flying spots Greenacres MAC have definitely put a lot of effort in, and tomorrow is supposed to be a bit better. I can't make it tomorrow though, got children's party to take little ones to. cheers to all Simon
cymaz
Wind was strong, though manageable ......just. It would have been impossible if it wasn't down the strip. Had four flights during the day. We will see what Sunday brings.

Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
A wet and windy day!Mrs B and myself went off in search of an evening meal. Found a nice pub. Driving back we spotted a sign "Aldridge Sailing Club"!!! They have to be joking right? We are miles from the sea or even a sizeable stretch of inland water. So we investigate - we find the place. Its a "Lake". Well when I say lake we have puddles that are bigger than that!Such dedication.BEB
Geoff S
Well Mrs Geoff and I have raced sailing dinghies right in the middle of Litchfield less than a mile from the cathedral. You'd be surprised where people sail just as non-aero-modellers might be surprised where we fly. Pity about the weather. I was looking forward to the Greenacres fly-in but I've got so fed up with just flyable wind coupled with the ever threat of rain I just couldn't face it. Hope you have better conditions tomorrow. I'll try again in August. Geoff
Tim Hooper
Just got back from our weekend at Greenacres, and we had a marvellous time! Yes, it was windy (as we expected), with heavy showers (as we expected), and so I loaded up with fast, all-weather models. I managed quite a bit of flying, too much socialising and definitely too much red wine! Netty and I would like to thank all the hard-working guys and gals of the club who invested so much time and effort in making sure the event ran as smoothly as possible. tim
cymaz
Just arrived home after nearly 6 1/2 hrs on the road ( I won't bore you with the details- bit of a family detour needed). Thankyou ! thank you, thank you, to all at Greenacres for a great weekend. You lot can't do anything about the weather...we all made the most of. Nice to have a natter to some fellow fliers.
