Its a beautiful plane and a very nice flyer.

Engine Doctor
No it can still move and negate or alter the elevator rudder settings. A mod with a wooden locating beam will be a better option . With that , unless the bands snap completely it wont move enough to make it uncontrolable. Peter Miller
One of my favourite "Classics" isDick Shumacher's "Little Ship" . 44" span, published in MAN December 1949 so true vintage. tor ro I have built 4 of them plus a 1 1/2 times version called "The Big ship" (available from Sarik) A club member uit this and has been flying it for several years. It is amazing as it is very aerobatic on three channels and does superb aileron/elevator rolls. My latest is a brushless conversion (With our editor now)
Peter Miller
To perform the Rudder/Elevator roll you dive to pick up a little excess speed pull the nose up, hit full rudder and then as she rolls over towards inverted feed inDOWN elevator and take it off as the roll is completed

Covered in nylon, doped then sprayed with 2 pack. Built in the mid 1980's. Martin Harris - Moderator
My oldest model (barring the "tenuous rebuild" mentioned earlier in this thread) is a Sterling Stearman that I'm informed was built around 1982. It's probably the model I'd least like to lose, so I tend to keep it for the "right" days. Proper covering (nylon) and it has a marvellous patina... When I first knew the model it was wearing a Super Tigre (65 IIRC). The previous owner fitted an RCV91 which suits it rather well. Should you want to see it in flight, just click on the picture...
