Ebay sellers...

Recommended Posts

A few blasts from the past here, if only the seller could identify them:

**LINK**

From what I can see, they are:

Red & black one with a nose wheel - Keil Kraft New Super 60
Yellow & green - Keil Kraft Super 60
Blue glider fuselage - Mercury Three Footer
Green one with the German crosses - Junkers Ju87 Stuka (Control line?)
Yellow & Black - Keil Kraft Student
Orange and black glider - No idea, any suggestions?

Advert

laugh "some parts damaged others incomplete" .............. which one is complete then?

The tissue finish on the Stuka reminds me of a very bad RTP conversion I did of a rubber powered one in my early years. It was so heavy it sort of dragged it self around with the occasional hop. Happy days!

Mind you, just seen the scale compared to the rest - definately not a rubber powered!

My excuse is I am comatose whilst 'strictly' comes to it dying death. smiley

From my memories of RTP, the hop was when the solid plastic wheels hit the wires from the controller to the pole. Of course if you could put enough volts down the wires, the centrifugal force resulting from the incredible speed would get the model up level with the top of the pole; until the brief but spectacular smoke trail from the motor, anyway!

As you say that Stuka is pretty massive. There are no signs of wires going into the wings, surely not rudder/elevator R/C? No bellcrank visible either, you wouldn't fly that free flight, would you? Would you??? surprise

If you compare it with the other wings it is over 60" span.

I did look for lead out guides at the wing tip but they could just be little eyelets on top of the wing.

A control line Stuka would probably have a fuselage mounted bellcfank with the lead outs through the sides and across to the tip.

It is still one of the worst lumps of garbage to be seen for a while.

There is a bit of unintentional (if geeky) humour in that listing. The seller states;

Winning bidder must collect in person from so18

And goes on to clarify that by so18 he means the Southampton postcode.

However SO18 is also the code of a Specialist Operations Unit of the Metropolitan Police - specifically the Aviation Security Operational Command Unit! wink 2

He has lots of beautiful aircraft, and by the looks of his other items a lot of stunning trains and models to come. Sadly it is because of a bereavement - the sellers father according to the listing, that they are being sold. He was obviously an superb modeller, and I am guessing by the trains an engineer too! I hope that I have such a stunning collection when my time comes, though I am not sure my wife will be as keen!

Didn't quite understand your post until I looked at the title I guess it's one of those automatic (supposedly intelligent) predicted texts thingies. One reason I would never use one - I KNOW what I want to write the machine doesn't.

Looks quite a decent model but not much detail. I suppose if you live nearby it would be worth a look.
