Bob Cotsford
Could it be the 'Ali' syndrome? a visit to a show generating a testosterone fueled burst of 'bigger is better' and 'I can do that', then a trip to the trade stalls followed by a tongue lashing when 'er indoors finds the price tag? Robin Kearney
Haha, you've made me chuckle with that. I think there is likely a lot of truth in it! r.
Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
Posted by Robin Kearney on 16/08/2012 21:54:53: Steve, did you bid on the Fournier? I am thinking as long as it was well built, £77 still isnt a bad price. I didn't in the end Robin.....much as I like it the last thing I need right now is another model...especially with such a wingspan!!! The workshop is already bursting at the seams..... I would have quite liked it though...£77 with an ASP30 4 Stroke was a good price IMO.....
Bob Cotsford
not a bad price for the engine alone.
JayCee
I have purchased a lot of RC related products via eBay without problem. Larger items, I purchased a SebArt Angel 50e I purchase within a 100 mile radius and pick up only parting with my cash when I've had a good look over it. Smaller items (used) I am guided by the eBay feedback system and never pay more the 50 % of the RRP. JC
Peter Miller
This is possibly worth a bid but only for the engine
Andrew767
Peter..............Looking at the plane,do you really think the engines worth a bid, considering the starting price. Andrew
Peter Miller
Well, even a non Surpass OS FS 40 has to be worth £40.

Keiran Arnold
Hmmm, has anyone else noticed that between 2:20 and 2:23 in the video , a hurricane morphs into a Spitfire.

Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
Good point that - no I have never seen a DeAgnostini Spitfire actually fly! And I've seen 3 or 4 "in the flesh". I wonder how many have been built - even more telling how many have been started! Who designed it - does any one know? BEB
Stephen Grigg
Seems to be top secret, probably because it would be a fraction of the cost that D,Agostini charged,
Paul Marsh
I suppose it would fly quite well, like the Dynaflight one I've got. Being fixed u/c and a simple set-up should be ok. Wouldn't mind buying one cheap, either from a swopmeet or still in kit form. No way would I pay £600 for it, maybe offer £80 tops for the airframe. Got a Black Horse Spitfire, similer size/engine, but that is a dog to fly. Seems to break everytime I fly it, mainly having a deadly tip stall at even moderate speed. Don't know why, but soon as it slows down, tip-stall.
Richard Harris
Had a chap turn up at the field a couple of years ago and I got roped into to maidening his DA Spit. It flew fine and was not unlike any other model Spitfire to fly. Never did see him again! Rich

Simon Chambers
S:GB:1123#ht_632wt_1064">SC91 As the add says: "Used, found in a friends shed seized up, but i completely stripped it down, cleaned off all old oil, grease etc, new parts fitted. turns over freely now, should run just like new. never been tested tho as i dont know enough about this engine to know how to connect up the fuel line etc." A bit worrying that he's striped and cleaned down a complicated/fiddly 4-stroke and sourced+replaced parts but doesn't know how to even connect up the fuel lines... Peter Miller
What new parts were fitted I wonder? I would want to strip it down before paying for it, just to make sure that it was OK.
Paul Marsh
...He said he damaged the prop driver taking it off , probably with a set of pliers.
