Merry Mark
In God's own county, an evening of slope soaring with Jolly Roger offered a breathtaking blend of adventure and serenity. The final launch into the setting sun was nothing short of magical, casting long shadows across the landscape and illuminating the path for a cross-country journey back home. The tranquility of the dusk, combined with the exhilaration of flight, created an unforgettable experience, leaving a lasting impression of nature's splendor and the thrill of soaring.
GrumpyGnome
Been flying 5 of the last 7 days. Exhausted, and my knees ache from the kneeling down. Cool and wet today, so I get a rest! The following models had outings: Arrows Hawk (managed to damage it yesterday) Parkzone SE5 TimberX Sea Fury The club Apprentice trainer Club member Bens new Riot got a maiden Wot4 Spacewalker Double Trouble Valiant (still has engine issues) P47 (ground runs only) The clubs little search and rescue multi-rotor. A few of these need some attention, so sitting down in the workshop beckons...

Cuban8
BMFA model advert?.........." classic (old) design with many original features (obsolete equipent) that has been well loved and flown (knackered). One or two repairs (regularly crashed) but looks in nice condition for its age (providing you don't stand too close). Flys quite well (needs full trim throws), no nasty traits (ideal for adrenalin junkies) but does need a well forward CG (access to copious amount of lead needed). Ideal trainer (providing you need an excuse to not take up the hobby). Offers considered.....contact Richard Turpin.......

Picked up the model and looked for the missing blade, to save any damage to the mower, as I bent down to pick up the broken blade I caught the throttle stick, the motor burst into life and due to being seriously unbalanced with one and a half blades, destroyed the rolled ply motor mount in a storm of bits. Safety first, UNPLUG THE BATTERY !🤢

That strikes me as a rather angry comment, delivered from a position of not being aware of the facts. No need to be rude about it. Not possible with this model, which needs the wing to be removed to disconnect the battery. You can't do that without picking up the model and putting it back on it's stand, inverted. DX7 now programmed with Throttle Cut on all models - a bot more protracted than the more efficient programming on the DX9, but all done now.

Tosh McCaber
Paul- I was present when the problem occurred- as Leccy says, would have been difficult if nor impossible to UNPLUG THE BATTERY in the circumstances that presented!!
David Davis
Flew the Calmato on Sunday. It flies well enough but I feel that my Irvine 46 is a bit feeble. I picked up an OS 46AX minus silencer at a car boot sale last year. I am going to try it in the Calmato. The Guidato in the background was not flown owing to a defecctive O ring in the carburettor.

leccyflyer
Good day at the field yesterday, until the rain arrived at bang on 2pm, exactly as per forecast. The morning was calm, next to zero wind, warm and sunny. The glider guiders scored some spectacular thermal action and we had a huge turnout, with the car parking area being over-full at one stage. Successful maiden of my ACT Komet, which had been hanging from the ceiling unflown since 2002. One clubmate came over after the flight and asked "What have you got in that?" to be surprised by the answer - a Sp400, 5x5" Gunther prop with an 8 year old 3s1p 1300mah lipo. Worked perfectly and she even survived the fully expected untidy tumble on landing. Great fun. Also had the first flights with my Pilot Zero in 18 years, much improved over the previous 3s1p Flightpower lipos with 4s1p 3300mah Zee Power and an EMAx 2832/05 motor. Really nice model to fly now, off the dolly and grooving along very nicely. Lost the canopy on the last flight, with very little chance of finding it as nobody saw it depart, so it could be anywhere in a huge area of long grass and rushes. Little chance of getting a PIlot branded spare, so will have to look for alternatives. Missed out on three returns to flight when I pulled my Kyosho Spitfire off the deck a fraction too early, with the wing drop and clip of the ground tearing out the wing mounting block, All fixed now, but meant that the Spitfire didn't get to fly after her extensive 2020 fix-up and e-conversion. As a consolation though I did pick up my latest Spitfire, a gorgeous Retlas Spitfire Va, destined for e-conversion having had her Laser 100 removed.
Ron Gray
Glorious weather at Old Warden was the order of the day and I flew the big Revolver and Mustang. Despite a very busy flight line I was given a solo slot for the Revolver which was nice as I was able to show off the incredible power that the Laser 310 flat twin has and was able to do some really big ‘old school’ aeros (none of this 3D stuff that seems to have taken over model flying displays). Both models were flown using SMC low oil Laser fuel and both performed flawlessly (although I did get a vapour lock in the 310 which delayed starting it). It was also good to meet up with other forumites and chew the fat. Roll on Lazy BoB.
