Daithi O Buitigh
Expect total craziness for the next week. Ebay is offering 'no sale - no pay' until the 8th of January
robert Jones 14
Not long ago someone paid £400 for an un-built Veron Vortex, mint in box. I doubt it would be built into a flying model at that price.

cymaz
Just puzzled on the start price, could of put £1 ?
Stevo
Surely if someine buys it, they are *contractuarly* obliged to part with 999?
John Privett
Posted by robert Jones 14 on 03/01/2015 11:56:04: Posted by Stevo on 03/01/2015 11:49:01: Yes, you have. The ?999 puzzles me.. It is free. He has to put a start price, so why not £999? Why not? Well for a start ebay are going to charge the seller commission based on the selling price - which is going to be £999 is it not? So it could cost him a non-trivial sum to just give the model away for free! I don't see why he didn't just list it at 99p (or lower, if you can) and then whether or not any money actually changes hands is up to the buyer and seller. No big deal either way. Martin Harris - Moderator
It is open to offers. I suspect if you offer 1p or less he only has to accept that....? Perhaps there's a software glitch and if you input a start price of 0p it defaults to £999?

TinPot Pilot
Thanks, Alan G, I have been wondering what that model was for some time! It was obviously built by someone very skilled, the cut parts are excellent.

If an item is an auction that also has a BIN price, then the BIN option disappears as soon as a bid is made. And there's now an opening bid of £35 showing on the item. He's removed the BIN because he's realized he can do better with an auction -perhaps someone tipped him off.
