John Privett
Evening all! Another weekend, a normal race weekend this time, and we're in Mexico. So that means we've got a-g-e-s to get our predictions done. But even so, the customary reminder; Don't forget your predictions! We've only had P1 so far, and 4 different cars set the top 5 times. Verstappen set fastest tiume, but less than a tenth of a second faster than Albon in the Willams. Perez was third fastest, with Norris 4th and Leclerc 5th. Hamilton was only 11th fastest, with the second Mercedes driven in P1 by Frederik Vesti setting the slowest time of those who actually set a time. With each team having a set of Pirelli 'test tyres' to try out during the session, 5 teams took the oppotunity to give one of the mandatory outings to a junior driver. Making it more difficult to draw conclusions, Verstappen set his time on mediums, his nearest rivals set their times on softs. P1 is at 23:00 UK-time tonight with P3 at 18:30 on Saturday and qualifying at 22:00. Sunday's race is at 20:00. Good luck, everyone! 1
John Privett
Evening Morning all, Once again, with the race being late in the day, the Channel 4 highlights programme doesn't even start until silly o'clock in the morning.... So again, I'll publish our results now (though I'll leave it as late as possible before actually clicking the 'Submit' button) in the expectation that anyone watching the highlights will not be surfing the 'net, looking in places where they might get hints about the race result! If you are such a person then please read no further! Otherwise please scroll down a bit... ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ So first, the scores in our league today (well, yesterday now!); Pos League Rank Team Manager Pts 1 5 1 Revers Racing Pete B 221 2 1 1 Pitts Specials john stones 182 3 3 0 Iqonic racing iqon 180 4 6 1 LetsGoTotoLetsGo GrumpyGnome 167 5 8 0 The JP Specials johnpflyrc 151 6 14 0 Oyster f1 Glenn Philbrick 148 7 9 0 PSS Power Flyer 145 8 15 0 teewrex John Tee 144 9 2 1 Essex Racing Tony Clark 143 10 4 0 GASTON Formula Chris McG 142 11 11 2 Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 136 12 10 0 Hans Brake Zoonie 121 13 7 0 DMFC Racing Team Simon Webb 112 14 12 1 Mannschaft Carl Brotherton 88 15 13 1 Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 75 16 16 0 Torque of the devil Stu 34 Top scorer was Pete with a very impressive 221 points. The highest score globally in fantasygp was 249, and just 1 more point would have put Pete into the top 100 scores today, and that's out of 15,000+ players. John S takes our second place with 182 points. And Iqon is close behind taking third with 180 points. Well done to our top 3 for Mexico! Now then, that must have resolved the tie for first place overall... os League Rank Team Manager Pts 1 1 1 Pitts Specials john stones 3611 2 2 1 Essex Racing Tony Clark 3572 3 3 0 Iqonic racing iqon 3469 4 4 0 GASTON Formula Chris McG 3409 5 5 1 Revers Racing Pete B 3249 6 6 1 LetsGoTotoLetsGo GrumpyGnome 3244 7 7 0 DMFC Racing Team Simon Webb 3126 8 8 0 The JP Specials johnpflyrc 3075 9 9 0 PSS Power Flyer 3061 10 10 0 Hans Brake Zoonie 2927 11 11 2 Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 2839 12 12 1 Mannschaft Carl Brotherton 2830 13 13 1 Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 2803 14 14 0 Oyster f1 Glenn Philbrick 2562 15 15 0 teewrex John Tee 2370 16 16 0 Torque of the devil Stu 2209 And indeed, John S thought he had top place after Austin, before Lewis was disqualified. This time though - as long as there's no similar penalties about to be handed out - he does take top spot. Tony is now second, and Iqon remains third overall. Pete's impressive points score lifts him up to 5th, pushing GrumpyGnome down to 6th - but with only a 5-point gap between them! Further down the table Carl moves up to 12th, displacing Kev down to 13th. All other places remain unchanged. Brazil next weekend, and it's another Sprint race. So... as qualifying is at 18:00 (UK-time) on FRIDAY, that is the deadline for your predictions for Brazil. Sprint quali is on Saturday at 14:00 with the Sprint at 18:30. The main race, on Bonfire Night (Sunday 5th) is at 17:00.

john stones 1 - Moderator
Saving grace for Checo is RB won both titles in a canter, not getting second would ramp up pressure on him though.
Erfolg
The references to Checo emphasises the abilities of Verstappen. In the case of Checo, I do not see how they can, or want to keep him. In the case of Lewis, his team mate was expected to support him. Although there were apparently circumstances they were allowed to go for the win. In the case of Checo, he never is in a position to help the team. Other than in the early season, he has not been anywhere near being in support. I would expect that there will be a queue to take his seat of very competent, if not truly exceptional drivers. I expect that potentially Verstappen's car has one season left in it. That is before a completely new design is required. With Newery there, who knows what the next car will do. I am sad for Checo, the stress, the desperation of seeing the exit door opening, for some one. Edited November 1, 2023 by Erfolg
McG 6969
@Erfolg, ... I can see 'millions' of reasons to keep Checo in house... ... Telmex, Claro, inter.mx, Banorte & so on... ... not to mention his ongoing 2024 contract & the man's marketing impact for Red Bull in his home-country... 'Dura lex, sed lex'... Erfolg
OMG, how did I miss the most important qualities. There is another driver who has such outstanding, important and virtuous characteristics. Oh! thankfully there is no one who has a seat because of their dad. It is tough for drivers such as Russel in such an environment, he needs an after shave and perhaps a clothing brand to sharpen his skills and abilities

John Privett
Afternoon all! It's another Sprint weekend, so an earlier predictions deadline again... Don't forget your predictions! As I mentioned earlier in the week, Brazil qualifying is at 18:00 UK-time TODAY. So predictions must be done before then! P1 starts in 90 minutes from now at 14:30, the Sprint shootout is tomorrow at 14:00 with the Sprint at 18:30. Sunday's race starts at 17:00. I'm going to set some 'banker' predictions now, I probably won't get a chance to revise them later today after P1. Good luck everyone! 1
