Simon Knight
Got myself an e-Flite Convergence with the view of being able to fly it at the front of my house over the fields opposite. Need to get confident with it and the transition piece before I go for it so I took her to the club last week and had a few practices. Need to have some more before I fully commit as if I get it wrong, it could end up in the local pond where I’d never get it back from. Already had to loctite the props on after the port blade departed the model after less than 2 mins of hovering! sharpy1071
Heres some photos of a Kyosho Cessna C188 that was given to me in a bit of a state. No cowl, no canopy, no wingtips but with servos. I converted it to electric and scratch built the engine cowl nd wing tips. Haven't flown it yet as only finished it yesterday. Second is a Just Junior ( 75% scale junior 60) built from the plan on outerzone, 3 channel rc, power is a paw 149.
martin collins 1
Finally maidend my Fiat CR32 E conversion today, flew really nicely and lands very slowly...... Bought the bare airframe at the NATS and converted it using a purple power motor i had lying around, pulls 36 amps at wot. 3300 mah 4S pack on a 14x8 prop. Pleased to have got it in the air and will move on to the next one, a small fun fighter zero, it needs checking over and a couple of jobs sorting out before i can get someone to launch it for a test flight....... Erfolg
I think it is a stand of scale Fiat CR42. The body is a bit squarer than scale perhaps?

Ron Gray
Inspired by the SAB Tortuga which I saw flying at Weston earlier this year and as I couldn't justify the outlay for one of them beauties, I decided to make a cheaper version! By version I mean a delta type wing that has a fair turn of speed. I decided that the Multiplex FunJet would be the basis of this and set about modify one. The first incarnation used an EDF motor from a Dynam Meteor and this was fun until the motor literally burnt out in flight, due to a lack of cooling. I then fitted a HK 6s EDF unit to it which was far too heavy but none the less it managed to fly but met an untimely end when one of the eleven pushrod connectors came out in flight. The result was the motor ending up in the nose and crushing everything in its path, esc, 2 x 1300 6s batteries and the Rx! But it certainly shifted! Bitten by this speed bug and the determination to clock 200mph I have now built a new one, this time with a lighter 6s EDF motor for which I had to fabricate a new alloy engine mount plate. Bench testing has shown that, on 5s it produces 2000W drawing 40 amps so with an all up weight or 2lb 10oz it should have enough oomph but if not I can always put a 6s in it. Just have to wear ear defenders when running the motor!

Max Z
Interesting similarities. I designed mine some 15 years ago and I cannot remember basing it on any particular full size aircraft. Max.

Going to put a GPS unit in it to see exactly how fast then to go 6s!
