Martin Harris - Moderator
Posted by Ernie on 05/07/2018 07:57:59: Tour de France starts at the weekend. Nobody will be watching the poor wee souls rolling around in agony ernie You'll be watching a sport well known for drug enhanced cheats instead then? I suppose there's a few moments of excitement in a sprint finish but I can think of little more boring than watching a bunch of Lycra clad sweaty herberts cycling past me for a few seconds in a blur of colour - but each to their own... john stones 1 - Moderator
I enjoy the TDF, one of the highlights of the sporting year. Competition brings the best n the worst out in people, we get plenty threads on here that get competitive n a bit passionate. which mode, lecky or I.C, petrol or glow, which TX, which engine, BMFA, who's opinion is the truth, refs/mods have to get involved at times as well, seen a few yellow cards issued, and sadly some who'll end up with a red one. Be millions watching both Ernie.
Devcon1
In another quandary, already written off visit to Yeovilton Air Day on Saturday. Just found out my local community centre has a double double booking for a 70th and childrens party on Saturday so will not be able to show the game in the main hall with big screen. After years of heartache and watching all previous tournament games in public venues, for this one all games watched at home but the superstitious part of me thinks will I curse it by changing now. Don Fry
Ahhhhhh, but my club had its new benches vandalised last weekend. So my president (this is France) having sorted out repairs, has decreed a deweeding event of the landing area, in contempt of the anti social louts, (edited wording), and as a show of unity, and solidarity. At 1430 hrs, CET. Bring a hoe. Being green, don't do neonicotinoids. 20 Km from home. You do the maths. Mutter, mutter. Fed up.
McG 6969
You lads seem to be loosing your nerves since the last South American affair. Just take it the 'simple' way... Tomorrow around 22.00 CEST - or 21.00 BST, if you prefer - the World Champ 2018 will be revealed. Maybe some Red Devils are still 'dreaming', but it will become clear soon enough. Good luck with your 'lads', John. Cheers Chris

Devcon1
Don, Ask them nicely to bring it forward 24 hours, I dare you.... John, Good idea, I'll certainly be wearing my official Lidl Russian World Cup England polo shirt as usual.. no expense spared when it comes to flying the flag. Good luck to Belgium
john stones 1 - Moderator
Missed game with work so I'm fed up. Never expected France to win, not doing so well the American continent, hope it stays that way.
Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
So France beat Uruguay. Belgium play Brazil and Englang play Sweeden. Right? Who's in the other game then? BEB (Who is very challenged by all this A plays B stuff)

Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
Ah, thanks Gary. So we could be playing the home side eventually - no pressure then! But of course there is the small matter of Sweeden to deal with first! BEB
john stones 1 - Moderator
How good do Belgium look then, full of confidence. Credit to Roberto as well, Fellaini doing a good job.
Gary Manuel
Belgium may as well have built a brick wall in front of the goal. Brilliant defence against a brilliant attacking team - especially in the second half.
john stones 1 - Moderator
Excellent game, Neymar apart played hard and fair. Your lads have started to believe Iris/Chris, bit jealous really.
McG 6969
Well, Belgians are specialists of "brick walls" and houses, Gary. But - obviously - our second half was a lot less 'brilliant' in attacking phases. But then did we need to? Lukaku was a bit 'underpowered' today but Courtois saved brilliantly.... Surely Iris has started to believe in it now, John. So, you're totally entitled to get a "bit jealous"... Cheers & good luck to your Lads now Chris Edited By McG 6969 on 06/07/2018 22:07:
PatMc
Will it be Hawker Harry Kane v Gen de Gaulle Keeper in the final ??

Iris Vlieghe
Ok lads, I don't know a thing about building RC models but yes Chris, I really do think we can win this. I predicted the score correctly. @John Actually I have a bit of a crush on Fellaini and this is nothing new. Love the edgy way he can get hold of those soccer balls. I actually drew him a few years ago. Chris sometimes reacts a little bit jealous but he shouldn't... He knows there is only one man in my life... my dad... LOL just kiddin' Happy greetings from Belgium! - Iris Edited By Iris Vieghe on 06/07/2018 22:32:
john stones 1 - Moderator
Very good Iris, Fellaini added some aggression in midfield, had a good game.
Ernie
WOW what an afternoon its going to be. excitement is mounting in the ernie household. Certainly no flying or fettling balsa today. We just cant wait. SWIMBO's got the nibbles ready, and were all ready to toast the winner Will it be Cav? The stage from Noirmoutier to Fontenay le Compte is of course a minefield for the favourites, what with the crosswinds, and all these fresh legs. It will be a sprint finish, and; with a wee bit of luck, we will be toasting a brit in yellow allez cav
Devcon1
Well done Belgium, who said it was the harder side of the draw. Another fascinating game to look forward to, I suspect the French know they have their work cut out for that one.

The match is in Russia and those locations sound French. Our keeper normally plays in green but we don't want anyone else in yellow to be celebrating anything this afternoon!
