Bob Cotsford
I guess, if you limit it to only two members on site at any time. Really I would have thought 29th would be more appropriate.
Nigel R
The end of March change looks a more likely contender for fields to reopen, to me - "six people outdoors". great minds Bob Edited February 22, 2021 by Nigel R

GrumpyGnome
Outdoor sports grounds 29h March. Hopefully BMFA will confirm tomorrow..... GG
Cuban8
I think we'll do very well to wait for guidance from the BMFA, but on the face of it, if organised team games like football which will involve at least a couple of dozen people turning up at a field to to kick a ball about will be OK from the 29th, then I expect a sensible conclusion would be to assume that a flying club would be able to operate pretty much as before but with the on-going precautions. Personally, I'm happy to wait a bit longer until the waterlogging subsides! At least there's light at the end of the tunnel for the hobby and the nicer flying conditions in the late Spring and Summer. Jonathan M
Phew! Thank goodness for that! I'm nowhere near having my current build finished in time for the 8th... but the 29th is looking feasible! ? 1

cymaz
I think our club will resume booking a flying slot with a maximum of 6 from 29 March- 17 May, ( assuming the dates don’t get put back)......After that it’s a bun fight! ?
GrumpyGnome
Don't think I have ever seen 6 people at our field at the same time! Benefits of a small club. Downside is high annual subscription though ? Anyway, all crossed for 29th and hoping people do not suddenly decide their own roadmap and ruin it for us. Geoff S
Interesting that Wings and Wheels seems to be all set to go ahead on 26th and 27th June according to my regular Sarik email received this morning. Not my usual show as Weston and Cosford are much nearer though we went and stayed over the weekend a few years ago. It's a lovely day here today - perfect flying weather and I'm here in the workshop trying to figure why our microwave oven doesn't work. I think I'm holding off 'real' flying until April, at least and keeping my hand in with RealFlight 9.5 now I've at last got it installed properly. GrumpyGnome
Very breezy on the East Coast - I have been gardening and will spend an hour or so pottering in a little while...... I saw the advert for W&W as well and thought that's before all restrictions are theoretically lifted - wonder what compromises they will have to make. cymaz
Not flying at any shows this year....just in case it all kicks off again. Sorry to be a little pessimistic but it’s a lot to arrange.
john stones 1 - Moderator
Been glorious here today, soon as allowed, field will be open and I expect the members will go.
Geoff S
Yes, here too. Went for a little stroll round the village this afternoon, instead - grumbling that we can't fly but there was some small consolation - a dry footpath and a lovely view. Didn't take my camera so this IPhone pic will have to suffice ? But you can see our unique 6 sail windmill on the horizon. Geoff
GrumpyGnome
Nice photo Geoff....... and certainly an interesting windmill! Glorious here yesterday, and today looks even better - crystal clear overnight and now. Great view of the ISS passing over East Coast at 5:25 this morning. GrumpyGnome
I noticed on BMFA website that "...there may be a limited return to flying..." on March 8th, but they are seeking clarity. GG P.S. I'd probably wait until 29th....... Edited February 27, 2021 by GrumpyGnome

leccyflyer
It looks like any relaxation in the regulations in Scotland may be slightly delayed relative to England and the Scottish government is wisely not putting any hard dates on that at the moment, it will be reviewed by the best data available to pick up any upwards and downwards trends in the impact of the virus, against the background of the vaccination programme. The most likely case is that it will be sometime in April before we see some relaxation.
Paul C.
29th for me ? I will have had my covid jab by then and it will have had time to activate ? better safe than sorry ?
Cuban8
A return to our flying sites can't come quick enough along with many other activities and seeing family. However, this will require everyone to tow the line and observe the regulations for a little longer. Ever since there has been good news on the vaccination front along with announcements that the NHS is no longer on the Covid critical list itself, I've noticed a marked increase in road traffic and people generally out and about much more than only a few days ago when it was wet and cold. We live on a main route to a popular seaside town and over the last couple of days with good weather, the traffic heading to the coast has increased markedly. Only this morning with a bright sunny start, I've seen cars with families and motorcyclists all heading that way. Essential journeys and staying local? I do wonder. Keep your eyes on the data and hope for continued better figures. If 'we' blow it now, then goodness knows where we'll wind up.
Paul C.
Remember the 29th is the earliest date and could well change if things do not go according to plan, fingers crossed everyone plays nice and nothing unforseen befalls us .
