EvilC57
I've just tried to get onto the Outerzone vintage & old-timer plans website for the first time in a while, and all I'm getting is an Error 500 message. Here.... Does anyone know whether it's still meant to be operational, down for maintenance, or has it gone? Outrunner
Worked the other day, probably needs a server reboot
Geoff S
I used to get regular emails with the latest plans etc. I haven't had one for several weeks.
michael cawood
just checked it and only got an error message
kc
It worked OK yesterday so it's hopefully just a temporary problem.
EvilC57
As Outrunner said, the server probably needs a reboot. I'll try again tomorrow, there's no rush.
kc
My view is that in due course all such sites disappear so It's good practice to download any plans you think you might need to your own computer and keep on a DVD disc or memory stick. Engine Doctor
Used it last Thursday and was fine ! Now getting "error 500" ?
Engine Doctor
Have a look at AeroFred plans very similar site to OZ. Hope it's temporary .
Piers Bowlan
Most likely it is just down for maintenance.
Peter Miller
Just checked. Outer Zone is back on line

GrumpyGnome
Cleared your browser cache?
EvilC57
Cleared the cache, made no difference.
GrumpyGnome
I can get to the 'Search' page from Google, but going any further gives that Error 500 message, irrespective of browsee, device, or cache state. Hopefully an Outerzone bos will spot and fix it.

Andy Stephenson
Well at least it's not Error 404 which usually means the site is gone for ever.
Martin_K
The domain "outerzone.co.uk" is still valid, registration expires 20 April 2023. outerzone.co.uk resolves to 109.104.94.246 so DNS is working. 109.104.94.246 is in the UK, possibly Leeds? Error 500 is a response from the web server, so it is online. In short, OuterZone is still there but the server has an unspecified fault. Depending on how good are the service provider's (Heart Internet?) housekeeping routines the fix may be easy, or not. I am assuming OuterZone are still paying the service provider's bills! It is a popular site so may be costly to run.
perttime
Hope he is OK. Elsewhere somebody mentioned recent health issues in the family.
Andy Stephenson
If I put 109.104.94.246 into the URL line of a search engine, I get a message "hello world" as a response.
Phil Green
Theres a silly row brewing and I suspect Steve is just keeping his head down until it blows over. No one seems to understand exactly what the perpetrator's grievance is, it seems to be of the "...are you looking at my pint?" ilk (or rather, Ouzo, Mythos, Metaxxa?) More on RCG if you want to check 🙂 Cheers Phil Edited September 4, 2022 by Phil Green

kc
It's working OK now. As I said earlier - make sure you get any plans you know you will want in the future and keep them on your own computer or memory stick - just in case.
