GrumpyGnome
I think that's definitely cartoon! Cute little thing.....
leccyflyer
Ron - the trademark fin and cockpit establishes Corsey's cartoon credentials. Looking good. 😄
Ron Gray
Thanks guys, always good to get several pairs of eyes looking at it. Assuming that it flies OK I will do a final mod to the drawing then add it to my ‘production’ list. Next up the Butch Bird.
Ron Gray
Sadly the revised Corsy bit the dust on Sunday, my launcher buddy reckons that the motor seemed to lose all power immediately after he launched it and it nose dived into the ground. Not a problem as I'll build another one! In the meantime the Butch Bird is being assembled, here is a vid of the first set of parts being cut
Daren Cogdon
I'll be intrigued to see how this turns out!

FlyinFlynn
How does the laser faire with white depron as opposed to the grey?
Ron Gray
It will not cut white Depron as the laser is the wrong colour on diode lasers, blue against red on a CO2 one. Not really a problem as white Depron is a thing of the past now!
Ron Gray
Well the Butch Bird nears completion! Just got to install the pushrods, ESC and Rx then it will be ready for its maiden flight. I may give it a coat of Eze Kote just to give the Depron some protection from landing in the weeds!

Ron Gray
Thanks guys, couldn’t really have wished for a better maiden flight. Just a couple of changes I want to make to the design, move the aileron servos into the wing and move the battery tray further back. Plus there needs to be a better air intake to cool the esc.
Eric Robson
Nothing more satisfying than a successful OD Ron.
Ron Gray
Yes, Eric, it’s been a while since my last one but this is the first 99.99% Depron one.
Daren Cogdon
Seeing Ron's success with his Butcher Bird, I thought about scaling up my, as-yet unflown, little Spitfire to a similar size. Thoughts?
Eric Robson
Why not doesn't cost a lot and great fun
Daren Cogdon
And I have some Depron lying around.....
Ron Gray
And the next one is built, the Spitty. I cut it out yesterday then spent a couple of hours building it. The overall build time was longer because I used gorilla Glue Clear on most of the joints with UHU POR used for the wing 'sandwich'. I have modified the design to taper the rear of the fuse in at the tail rather than keep the design's box section plus I've placed servo cut outs in the wings rather than mount the aileron servos in the fuse. I’m going to copy what I’ve seen others do, there will be team events (names drawn from a hat to determine which team they will be on) plus one on one combat. Some of the Wacky Races rounds will also be run but with a difference, all models in the air at the same time!
