Nigel Dell
Posted by Keith Sharples on 28/05/2017 19:16:04: Hi Robin. Looking at the ebay post, a few things don't ring right, it ended on 26th May! the seller has no feedback rating at all! the picture looks UK to me. All in all leave well alone, don't forget that Ebay now protects the purchaser with a full refund if any problem with the seller cant be solved amicably. I ordered a battery bank for portable phone charging etc on Ebay. Like the Catalina it was a stupid price (to good to be true £5.95 same model with others was £15.00) but ordered it anyway from China. A few hours later I had an email from Ebay them selves saying that they had removed the item from sale as the account holders account had been hacked! I was advised to contact the seller and ask for a refund. It then came to light that the account holder was in France and it was hacked by someone in China. Anyway I contacted the listed seller/account holder in france and they responded to Ebay. I then got a full refund from Ebay, that happened over the course of approximately 12hrs so a good outcome It can take longer though! With the Catalina I would leave well alone. All the best Keith It seems that our friend in China is going through old listings and posting them, Yesterday I saw the Graupner Cumulus I bought a month or so ago listed and reported it as fraudulent, before I was able to copy the listing EBay took it down, so beware on everything that looks too good to be true. And EBay are quick to respond so it is worth reporting these things.

Devcon1
If you look at the £499.00 vintage model he's listing I suspect it's no mistake... It's a COC bargain apparently. Edited By Devcon1 on 02/06/2017 09:46:

Peter Miller
Now here is an optomist. A Sig Kadet Senior kit and he only wants £225 for it. Pegasus Models are selling it for £115. **LINK** I have told him just to see what he says
Dwain Dibley.
Same for his Mercury matador Peter, double the new price from Pegasus. Good luck with that then....... D.D.
Peter Miller
That looks like an original |Matador kit by the label so probly worth even more. I saw an original Galahad kit sell fro £
Daithi O Buitigh
In fairness the Kadet is also an original from Sig and their price is $150. Add on the 20% VAT on both the original cost plus the post and packaging it does make it a lot more expensive (especially if the 'extras' are included)
Peter Miller
Yes but the Sig kit is still available today from Pegasus for £115 (Well you might have to wait for it to come from the USA.) The Mercury Matador kit looks like the original Mercury kit as sold back in the 50s and 60s. You can get a kit from Ben BUckle but not in its original box with original label as far as I know

Jez Harris 1
Disagree...if I have to buy jiffy bags etc then thats the 'packaging' part of p&p.Ebay costs are so high now why should sellers swallow costs?I dont think thats unreasonable.Jez
Stevo
Yep... ?8.50 may seem a little high, but includes p&p, packaging, time, travel to the P.O etc, no not so bad.

Martin Whybrow
His listings are incredibly random, as his prices appear to be; according to ebay, he has over 1/4 million items listed at the moment!

Martin Dance 1
Now then the ad does say that you are only getting the front bit, that'll be the lump of corroded metal then. The rest is going in the bin.
Erfolg
Oh my God, I think I know what it is. If only I had seen it earlier, I would have saved myself from building the very same model. It was initially the wing break point and UC wire that gave me the clue. It is possible that I could have used the engine?
