leccyflyer
Not one of mine, but pictured this wee beauty at the field today - she went like she was on rails and really looked the part in the air. ?

Stephen Jones
I made and flew a ten year old design over the weekend was impressed with how simple it was to make and it flies very well too. The Funbat. If you fancy something easy and cheap to build and fly this is good. Steve

In a long vertical dive the elevator pushrod bowed and the model went through a very tall tree from top to bottom. Even the Super Tigre 25 failed to survive!!

How well did they fly ? Would you build and fly them again ? I like Super Tigre engines I have a nice collection of them all in good working order. ? Steve. Peter Miller
They were extremely aerobatic and great fun. You will love them them. Just make sure that the elevators cannot blow back!!

Dale Bradly
This has been about 15 years in the making. David Boddington 1/5 scale. about 70". Myself and modelling friends built it, despite being not quite finished, it had one flight on a 914st. Ended up in storage and recently a burst of enthusiasm came on to get it finished. Reworked a few things, including a recover and repaint in a different scheme, and a conversion to electric due to the infrequency at which it might fly, and avoiding fuelproofing. Flies brilliant on 5s, and is acutally quite easy to fly. Plan now on Outerzone, because I put it there. https://outerzone.co.uk/plan_details.asp?ID=13406 16

Paul De Tourtoulon
Nice, and to post it on the outerzone,, If I wasn't so lazy and my workshop was so cold and balsa was so expensive and a few more excuses, I would be building your one only my 3rd Tiger Moth, this winter,,
GrumpyGnome
I'm probably being over cautious but can one just post a plan on such sites ? Isn't it intellectual property, and part of Boddo's estate in this case? Dale - I'm not 'having a go' - like Paul, I think it's very good of you to post it. Similarly, I sort of wince internally when club members swap plans and tracings of the original 'off-plan' ribs, formers etc. which they made originally in case they needed to make repairs..... Maybe I'm just a fuss-pot!
Peter Miller
Hi Grumpy. Have you looked at Outer Zone? There are more Boddington plans on there that I have had hot dinners. Most plans are from magazines that are no longer in existence. Quite a few from old Aeromodellers. There are a lot of mine on there and I have been glad of that. e.g. My powered version of the Waco Hadrian which was published in the USA. £14 for the Sarik plan, £3 to print off the RCM plan when I wanted to build an electric powered version. Of course if you want to ban Outer Zone then you must insist on banning Aerofred and a few others.
Peter Miller
PS. I should just point out that Outer Zone do not make any money out of their service. I think most plans on Aerofred are free too but some people have their own plans on there and I think that they do make a small charge,

Maybe I'm just a fuss-pot! The plan in question was first published in RC Scale Aircraft magazine many years ago. The IP would have then belonged to the publishers who were then Argus Specialist Publications. David Boddington drew the plan. Over the years, the ASP plans became owned by Nexus, Magicalia etc before finally resting with Sarik. The plan in question is not currently listed by Sarik, so precisely who is making any money or denying the IP owners any income by listing the plan on OuterZone? Dunno. If the plan was available to buy elsewhere, I guess they'd be deprived of the income........ suppose it's like 'abandon-ware' such as the Phoenix flight sim ....... like I said, I'm being an unnecessary fusspot! David Ashby - Moderator
The weather is telling me to get stuck into the kit pile now. Just finished this Lacey M-10 peanut. It's sitting on the plan for the next project, a KK Cadet glider.

Maybe I'm just a fuss-pot! There are many plans missed through the years and this is one of those! Thanks Dale for publishing it! Other one lost is no less the small Sirocco from Duncan Hutson about which I asked to Traplet some years back and more recently to Sarik and neither was able of tracing it. Just recently Sarik Hobbies has made available the large Sirocco version with molded and wood parts and since I got it from Ebay UK just last year know that the plans is intended for a kit and as such, is of limited use if you want to buy from scratch. If somebody finds and publish the small Sirocco plan it would be great that such design from Mr. Hutson is not lost forever.....
Dale Bradly
Guys, thanks for the "likes", certainly wasn't expecting what amounts to about 10 of them! I'm very proud of the model, and pleased it's finally finished, so the fact a bunch of "strangers" from across the globe appreciate this too is somewhat pleasing. Interesting discussion resulting from my comment about uploading the plan to OZ. I did have a small moral dilemma about it, but as i have previously asked DB S&S, and Traplet if the plan was still available before deciding to salvage what i could of mine (lots of tape!), i decided that preventing what might have been the only copy in existence from disappearing was more important to me than unknown copyright status. If it was raised as an issue then i would like think it could be removed, as with any such plan on similar sites.
