Steve Colman
Took the opportunity to spend a few hours flying at the club yesterday evening. A wonderful evening of flying spent in the company of some good friends until the sun begins to set on the horizon. What a beautiful way to end the day. Steve. Levanter
Steve Where is your field? What a wonderful backdrop and are those two runways I see?
Steve Colman
Levanter, The field is at the foothills of the Pyrenees in northern Spain. Yes, two linked runways; one of 160m and the other 200m.

Levanter
Steve I live in Mallorca and so must try and visit your field one day. What is the name of the club? Could I look it up for events or open days? I am recently back into the hobby and building like a mad thing but with no flying experience. Is there a Spanish Federation like the BMFA? Sorry - too many questions!
Steve Colman
Levanter3, The club is situated in Igries, Huesca, Aragon. The name of the club is " club aeromodelismo osca " We have a web site with all the details of events etc. The club is affiliated to "FADA" Federacion Aragonesa de los Deportes Aereos which is the overseeing body of the "sport' here in Aragon. The club hosts several organised events during the year and the Brietling event every few years. Now, the strange thing is, the membership number runs into the forties but you wouldn't know it. In general there are about a dozen of us who fly regularly and have loads of fun in the process. There are models worth thousands in the hangars that I've not seen flown for at least two years. With regard to visiting one day: no problem, just get in touch. Steve.
Eamonn Fahey
Steve, Beautiful Sunset! TWO Runways! HANGERS! 40 MEMBERS! Am I jealous? Eh!
Jamie White 1
Wow Steve what an amazing place to fly, great pictures!
Steve Colman
Yes, it's a fantastic place to fly. We also have a club house with a kitchen/bar, an open fire and TV. Ladies and gents loos and an outside shower. In the pits area we also have a 12v supply for battery charging and a PA system for those special days. To cap it all membership fees are only 96 euros for the year. Steve.
John Privett
Steve, those facilities sound fantastic at any price, let alone only €96. And a dozen regulars out of 40 members sounds about the sort of ratio that a lot of clubs report.
Erfolg
Steve , ladies and gents toilets, that is nothing, we have executive toilets, just down the grass track, avoiding the nettles, ducking to avoid low hanging branches. The sunset is something else! Perhaps you are spoiled?
John Privett
Actually Erfolg, now I come to think of it, my club has an outside shower too. It's a bit unreliable though, generally not working, but then working sometimes when you least expect it. Covers quite a wide area too! John Privett
Bringing us back on-topic... Here's the sunset we had a couple of weeks ago up on the Downs. I don't recall if this was before, or after, the rain! I suspect before, otherwise I wouldn't have still been there looking at those clouds. This shot might have something to do with the "shower" I mentioned previously...
John Olsen 1
Well, we have a portaloo at our field. Now if I could only persuade the rest of the members to close the lid so the stink goes up the vent.... John
Peter Miller
Oh Boy, and I thought our club was brilliant. Mind you, early this year we had several tons of sludge from the sewage works a hundred yards up wind of us for several months. Forget portaloos! Scott Douglas 1
Urgh...jealousy can be such a cruel mistress Half way up a hillside in Scotland suddenly doesn't compare! That's stunning! Just had a look at your website, loos? In Scotland we call them "bushes".. Showers????? up here that's called "wait till it rains" (usually 5 - 10 minutes or just after you unload!!) Phil Claridge
we also have a (poo farm) adjacent to our patch, it catches about two or three planes a year not a favourite place to crash or get voulunteers to retrieve them

cymaz
Wasn't there a sewage farm in "Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines" ? A couple managed to go in there! Edited By cymaz on 13/07/2014 07:05:

Peter Miller
Ah yes, The duel over the top of it one of the best bits of the film if I remember rightly. Especially when the German was so pleased that he had shot the Italian down and jumped up and down and punctured his balloon with his Picklehaub Helmet
