Many, many years ago. when I was doing a bit of casual work for the motor cycle dealer he has a problem with a mini reel to reel tape recorder and asked if I could sort it out.  I actually found that the tape was running back to front across the heads.  He thought that I was brilliant???!!!

 

A couple of weeks later he brought me his portable radio which had fallen off his boat into the harbour.  Could I fix that after a week in salt water.. I took the back off.  The printed circuit board no longer existed.

NO I couldn't fix that!!!!
