Mark a
Hi all. Just got in from the field after a couple of hours tearing around the sky with my Wot 4. Had a great time nobody else there so the sky was mine. Here's to a year of fun and safe flying. Mark. Reno Racer
Sadly grey skies and rain in N. Germany. My old flyig buddies in Oklahoma, USA (where i spent the past 2 years) hold an annual chili fly every New Years Day. Everyone turns up with prizes given for the most flights clocked up. Every digs in and helps and chili, hotdogs and hot coffee and so on is brought by members and families to really make it a good day out. This is my first year not in attendance and as i look out of the grey rain filled sky, i really miss it this year. This is what good clubs should be about. Oh well, back to the workshop to breathe in some more balsa dust!
Frank Skilbeck
Was the only one down our, field just a couple of flights with my Blade 300x and 130x, but really from a safety point of view I should have been wearing a lifejacket
GrahamC
I popped to the field as there had been talk of folks being out. Lovely blue skies, but a bit too windy and very cold. As there was no-one there I chickened out!
Bill_B
Got a very nasty 'man flu' virus so no flying for me unfortunately.
Richard Harris
To windy for me today plus my head hurts, must have been something I ate !
David Ashby - Moderator
Yep, threw the foamy acrowot around in a cold breezy blue sky but it was nice to get out.
Bob Cotsford
I went down to the field expecting to find a few others there but it was deserted. When I walked across to the parking area for a close look I realised that taking the car in would be A Bad Idea. The only part not waterlogged was the strip itself. So instead I've done a bit more on the Blue Angel and ordered some Robart wheels for it.
Eamonn Fahey
Just back from a mornings flying in Dublin. Blue skys, windy and cold. The cold eventually drove us all home but the flying was good. Happy new year to all Forumites.
Devon Flyer
Five of us turned up at Countisbury this morning. Blowing around 25 mph and smack on the slope. Had a couple of really nice flights with the Acacia fully ballasted. Was chased all over the place by an inquisitive Peregrine falcon. Loads of fun! Concorde Speedbird
Blustery winds here but I went out with the Funfly. Great fun, plane was superb as usual and the cross wind landings were hard, especially since I had to go near a tree, but both landings were good. Mr.B.
First outing for my shiny new crimbo present wot4e. Blue sky but gusty and a very soggy field.

ARC
yep, managed an hour with my balsa acrowot. Windy but still good to get out and have a go. Three of us in the end flying. Good job they turned up, got stuck in the mud by our cabin.
Tim Hooper
A good turnout at the club here! Blue skies ans the wind had dropped to 'managable' levels. Lots of flying and banter, and I got to maiden my new toy too! Excellent..... tim

Vecchio Austriaco
Yes, we had the New Years Day fly in, at MKMAA. quite a few people were there and no accidents happened. Means a good start into 2013. Flew with the Sukhoi 29 and the F9F foamy EDF. Rather windy, but no gusts. VA
Martin Harris - Moderator
I was rather surprised to find that there was only one other member at the club this afternoon - where there was blue sky, sunshine and a bit of wind but nothing too bad. Messed around with my new Seagull YAK 54 which I'm having a little trouble getting down to 82 dB (my fault for sticking a 180 FS in it I suppose) but the new super quiet silencer from Weston via JE hasn't been totally successful in replacing the previous lashed up system. Flew my little electric Extra so at least I can claim to have flown every day in 2013...a year which has been sunny and rain-free so far! Garry Pollard
Brilliant day at Swinderby. Just one other member, managed 4 1/2 hrs . Thanks 2013 Garry Edited By Garry Pollard on 01/01/2013 17:22:
John Privett
Yes, and a good turnout at our field today. I think everybody else (like me) has been frustrated by not being able to fly since before Christmas due to the weather. I normally expect to get a few flying days around Christmas/New Year in cold but calm(ish) conditions - but not this year! I had three flights with the Katana in slightly breezy conditions, saw a few people I'd not seen for a while, and collected a couple of membership renewals. A good afternoon! Hogster
No flying at our site on a bank holiday except for gliders. Shame as it was the best day for flying over the last couple of weeks or so.
Turbycat
Same here. Can't fly on bank holidays. Best day for ages too! Itching to get out at the moment. I don't think I've been out for over 2 weeks now!
the unmagnificent man
Very wet field but managed to start my Messerschmitt 109 then it cut out whilst ticking over. After a few minutes I realised that I had blown the plug. I swapped the plug and blew that too. Like an idiot I tried again before realising that the problem was in my power panel. 3 plugs down and no flight, ouch. try again tomorrow. Peter Miller
Two of us went flying. I was trying out a 3 axis stabilizer on my Miles Magister. The club sec was flying a helicopter. Nice apart from the mud on the way across to the field and in the car park area.
