Chris Walby
Kits arrived and had a look in the box. I like the scheme below so will be aiming for that in a stand-off scale approach! Mine will be using the supplied electric set up and WR retracts. Building board has a backlog of models on it so will get this in due course, unless I could utilise the dining room table!
leccyflyer
I used to think that about the Messerschmitt 109 as well, but an excellent short documentary by my favourite aviation artist Mark Postlethwaite convinced me otherwise and I'm not so sure, or to be honest bothered, now. 🙂

leccyflyer
Wish that Ron's post hadn't been removed, as it now makes it look like I'm taking issue with the thread title, which could not be further from the truth.

Your post don't look like that to me, perhaps out of context although to me its relevant as you appear to be right (if Willy says it is!). On reflection Richards drawing says Bf (to cover all variants!) so as per drawing Bf it is. Off to unpack a box of Me parts or are the Bf parts! I tidied thread up, made no sense once title was changed, blame me.
Chris Walby
Extended the table and unpacked the box (don't worry Richard I won't start until the Tempest is finished.... and the "other one"!) and the dining room is far more pleasant temperature wise if its just gluing required! Not at all Brian . I thinks its very interesting . We were all brought up calling them "Me" and as Mark Postlethwaite says , the BF thing crept into being as a sort of righteous correction . But when you think about it , all of the combat reports from the period refer to Me109s and Me110s . As usual , its a self perpetuating error as one author reinforces the error for the next . BTW , Ive never met Mark but also admire his work . I did however meet Nicholas Trudgeon at Duxford and had very nice chat with him about colours and composition plus his favourite subjects . He was very nice and would have made an excellent scale modeller 😉
Graham R
I find that Gorilla white glue very good Graham. I also use it for brown paper covering. Screwfix and tool station sell it.
gillyg1
Yes got sone of that, lots of different pva's , but was particulaly after aliphatic, being sandable , not rubbery like pva.

I just bought a fresh bottle of J Perkins Aliphatic resin from Inwood Models. It has good grab and dries quite quickly so I prefer it. Also use Gorilla white glue for bigger areas although my experience with brown paper covering with it was a bit mixed. But then I am no covering expert!
Eric Robson
I always use Gorilla white glue, it is the best sanding glue I have used. Planked a Brian Taylor Tempest using aliphatic glue from a top brand name and finished up with ridges on the joins. No ridges on the Brian Taylor Corsair planked using Gorilla white glue. 2
gillyg1
Thanks Eric, as it happens i do have some of that on the shelf, so will give it a go. 👍
Ron Gray
Yes, Gorilla Glue white is my favourite pva. I'm now trying Everbuild Lumberjack 5 minute Poly glue and I must say that so far I'm impressed. @martin collins 1put me onto it for building Depron models where it is very expensive to use UHU POR, ditto Gorilla Glue Clear plus there is no quick grab time with the latter. This stuff grabs in 5 minutes and sets really quickly too, in fact I took some along to a club meeting, stuck 2 pieces of balsa and 2 pieces of Depron together before the meeting then at the end passed the pieces around for members to test. The succeeded in breaking, the balsa and Depron not the joints! It does foam a little bit but nowhere near as much as Gorilla Glue Brown.

Hi Chris, this quest would best go on the Bf110 hints and tips page (I have reposted it there 🙂
Eric Robson
Regarding Gorilla wood glue, I shop regularly at a small Tesco store, they often have club card offers on adhesives. One time the 532ml were on offer for £8 at the time they were £13 in B and Q, lately the 236ml have had £2 off.
