There were many warnings posted, over and over. Do you think the missing ones you are referring to are from before that? Hi Chris - I think they were before the cut-off date but no worries they weren't crucial.
Peter Garsden
Page Turning I have reset my options so that when I open a forum I go to the last page ie the most recent entry whereas some sites revers the order of the posts so that the most recent appear on the first page you open. I wouldn't advocate changing that but... Nonetheless when you go back a page using page turning you are taken to the top of the previous page rather than the bottom, so you have to scroll down to the bottom as you are working in reverse order. I hope that is clear. So when you are working forwards from the front, the page turner takes you to the top of the next page - as it should - but when working from the end and the most recent post, when you turn the page it show take you to the bottom of the previous page not the top? Can this be changed?

DaveyP
Just had a look on the "members new models" section. I clicked on the bubble to go to the last post this was ok, but when I clicked on the prev button it took me to page 1, which is not what I wanted. Surely it should just go to the previous page? I didn't fancy scrolling through over 600 pages to see the second from last page....
EarlyBird
@DaveyP, When I click on PREV it goes to the previous page as expected. When I click on << it goes to first page as expected.
Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
Glad you said that EB....I've just tried it & it works fine for me.....the PREV button does just that & takes you back to the previous page..... @DaveyP might you have pressed the << button by mistake? Peter Jenkins
Hi Mods I wrote a thread in "All Things Model Flying" entitled "Ever wanted to get into or improve your aerobatics?". When I last looked at it in the old forum it showed something like 120,000 views. It is currently showing 135 views. My question is, has the views counter been reset and are these 135 views happened since the new Forum went live? Thanks Peter

Peter Garsden
Any news from the developers on adding back the tools that enable you to move images from the Member's Gallery into specific albums? It was said that it is a tool that at one time was on the site but was then removed I think? Whilst there are some tools, they are limited. Forum moderators have extra functionality which is built into the standard forum software. We only became aware of this when investigating the problems encountered by the unusual situation created by importing the albums required by the anachronistic software used by the old forum - something which itself was a special request. Sorry, but the forum software will not allow users to move the non standard import of photos into albums without expensive customised software being commissioned and tested. Wilco Wingco
Posted Saturday at 15:08 Sorry I maybe didn't explain that very well. 1) Do a search to bring up a list of items found. 2) Then select an item off the search list. 3) Scroll through and read the posts in that selected item. 4) Then press the arrow at the top left of the page to return to the search list displayed in 1) You go back to the top of the search list NOT to the item you selected in 2) hence you have to scroll through all the items you have ignored previously. When there are a number of items you select from the list 1) its a real pain to have to scroll through ignored items time and time again. Sorry guys I posted this in Sandbox by mistake. tried to copy and past with limited success.
Martin Harris - Moderator
That's true but it takes you back to the same page of results rather than the start of the search on several different browsers and devices that I've tried. It's standard practice for the forum software - I've checked other sites running on the same Invision platform and they all work this way. To be fair, there are only 25 results per page which I don't find much difficulty scrolling through. If it's different for you, could I ask what you're accessing the site on/with?
kc
There appears to be some security lapses - when I went into my own photos in Images it went further on and allowed me to get some of Danny Fentons images! Previously I found one of my photos had been 'nicked' from there by Aerofred and put against a plan they were offering.
Ron Gray
You mean like this @kc You can go to any member and select their activity, including all images!?
Martin Harris - Moderator
There’s nothing new about being able to browse other people’s albums - it was that way on the old site.
Andy Stephenson
Why can't I see anything in the Albums section and I have checked some of the most prolific posters here and nothing. What is the purpose of this section? All the images that members have posted are all in the Images section. Andy.
EarlyBird
Here is an album In the Albums section. ? Found here. Edited March 9, 2021 by EarlyBird More info added
Martin Harris - Moderator
The albums have little or no function on the new site but their contents were brought across as an additional request to the website developers. As there’s no need to upload photos to use them in threads, the best thing is to regard them as historical interest.
kc
Is it right that others can download photos from my images and use them for whatever they want? I cannot delete them because other threads will lose the photos that were part of that thread!

I cannot delete them because other threads will lose the photos that were part of that thread! As I understand it yes anyone can download photos and presumably do what they want with them. I understand that this has always been possible. You can delete the photos and the threads will not be affected. I have tested it and it has been confirmed by Martin that this can be done. However the photos will continue to be accessible from the threads and downloadable from there. Plus deleting the photos is a long winded time consuming process. Others have tried and will confirm this. Cheers
