Winter is here....who's been flying?

I fly at Winterton in North Lincs and have a caravan at PV. I also fly at the various cliffs around PV and attend the slope gatherings meets in May and September. Where do you fly?

Willy Howe in Wold Newton, about 5 miles from PV.  Nice quiet field, with no time/power restrictions (too small for jets though, and useless for slope soarers!), multi-rotor, fixed wing, helicopter.  If you're still up here, Thursday, Friday and Saturday look OK - we happily accept BMFA members as day visitors, although we do charge....

We have a few semi-regulars from nearby caravan parks.

Yes I did see your field one time when I was out on my bike but no one was there at the time. Keep meaning to visit but the time just goes when in your delightful part of the country. Perhaps later this year. Thank you for the invite.

Went flying today cold an blustery, 3 flight's with the Me110 then  decided it was too cold, no one else turned up just got everything packed up and the gate locked when the sun came out and the wind dropped. Opened up again and took the Warhawk over and had 3 good flights with that one.

Three of us at the field today, variable light breeze - but chilly.  Flew the Valiant, Arrows Hawk, Riot and Ruckus, and ran up the engine on my newly acquired P51. Ruckus flies nicely but an aileron servo issue curtailed the fun.

Andy flew his Riot, Blaze and Arrows Viper successfully.

Eric came out to play with his Arrows T33 and old EFlite Viking. Again, successfully. Although the worm casts challenged the Viking!

Went flying on Thursday with my Saito FG21 powered VQ Giant Stick. My first IC flight, being all electric until now. The sound of the four stroke petrol has converted me into a passionate IC flyer. I just can't stop smiling at how easy it was to fly, no harder than electric. ☺️

Fantastic fun this afternoon at the club field with five of the wee Volantex 400mm "warbirds" all up at the same time, including a passable Finger Four formation of identical Messerschmitt Bf109Es - a really good laugh and the fun per pound of these tiny models is difficult to match. Might be some pictures later, but my attempts to use the video sunglasses to record the flight failed, possibly due to the cold and insufficient battery power. Will definitely have another go soon.

Bit chilly but nice morning at the field - couple of flights on the Riot; couple on the Hawk (kept lipos in conservatory overnight); dodgy servo in Ruckus stopped that flying; put a dozen tanks through my current favourite plane....

Had company for an hour - Andy flew his Blaze, Viper, and Blaze.  For other few hours, it was just me and the birds...

No planes were hurt in the fun....

Another brilliant day's flying at the club field, freezing cold with a 7mph wind, straight down the strip. Flew my Eflite P-51D and Spitfire XIV, and we had some Spitfire formation flying, that I managed to get a few snaps of,  but the most fun was to be had with the wee Volantex Bf109s, Spitfires and P-51s. We had five up at once again for some credible formation flying, even in those windy conditions, Great fun.

It was very cold for the two of us at Davidstow today, 7’c at home and a chilly 3’c at the site. Mind you the old Airfield is almost 1000’ above sea level.

4 good flights with the big Pitts Challenger and tried a 25x12 3 blade prop to slow it down for landing, didn’t work. Went back to the 27x10.

Would a 25x10 3 blade br better? It’s a lot of cash to shell out if it don’t work!

Lovely shots Kev and I can vouch for both the colour of the sky and the cold! It was good to get the Venom out again and blow the cobwebs and dust off it, a nice compliment to my new Viper but that shot of it reminds me that I need to fit the replacement nose gear doors!

Brrrr, winter has returned - snow on the ground and a freezing wind.  Hopefully our indoor hall will have had the heating on for this afternoon's session.

My wife said "tomorrow looks good, 5mph wind and 1 degree"......... the exhaust trails should look good if the sky's as blue as it is now!

Despite the temp of about 5 degrees there was plenty of lift about & I had some good flights with my MPX Lentus today in company with a Clubmate who was having 5min+ flights with his DLG. About an hour was all we could stand though.

A bit late, but flying Sunday....I don't think I have my "twins" obsession under control at all! Even one of the other club members brought his foamy twin as well ☺️

Really getting the hang of the Peter Miller Grumpy Tiger Cub with massive full power full throws loops rolls and bunts. far more scale with a couple of flights of the P38. Still surprised at how well the P38 flies considering its weight.
