stu knowles
The Sunderland loks very good. I'd be interesteed to learn more about how you did it. The Gull wing looks a very elegant design - and very well covered
Tosh McCaber
Both look great. What sort of wing structure does the Sunderland have in the way of wing spars Eric?
Eric Robson
Hi Tosh, I had a wood pack from Sarik which contained 1/8" x4x36 which was hard enough to make a cricket bat from useless for planking but it made the main spar of the Sunderland. The second spar is foam board only one rib where the floats mount. Stu, it is the 6th foam board and depron model have made. As the construction is similar to the other 4 I did not want to bore anyone with a build blog but I will do a retro blog if there is any interest. I have been flying it today and it has now had 8 flights.
Glenn Ryan
Eric, asking if we want a build log of something cool like the Sunderland is like asking if we want blue skies and no wind to fly in. Of course we do 😄
stu knowles
Thanks forthe reply. I think that you have disguised the foamboard rigins of the Sunderland very well. I'd certinly be interested to lern how you did it.

bert baker
I messed up building a Disco in my early years of flying, I grabbed the chance of a unstated kit a year or two ago Finally got my worries out of the way and revisited some old school building techniques I’ve yet to brave a test flight

Richard Harris
This is my own designed canard 'Shifty' I finished several months ago, it's had 40 odd flights to date and goes really well. Hoping to get this one published in the mag as soon as the blue skies arrive on a weekend for a photo shoot.😏 A video of one of its first outings: Edited May 3, 2023 by Richard Harris

Steve Colman
Exprimental Rogallo. A receiver, motor and ESC from the spares box, some parts of an old HK autogyro and a broken delta kite meet to produce a belt and braces flying machine. The two parts of the model being held together by zip ties is in essence being lazy but also allows for easy adjustments to be made; which have proved to be necessary. The model showed some promise at the field this morning with smooth take off's but these were immediately followed by a hard bank to the right along with a high nose up altitude and subsequent stall and crash, the last of which resulted in a bent motor shaft. I think the kite angle is too steep as I took the easy route and just used the angle obtained by just strapping the tube to the top of the mast. I will reduce it and hope to have another go tomorrow. I'm starting the thread to anyone who has just finished a model, to photograph it and put on here. A photograph and a short description of each one is ideal and lets see the models getting ready for their maiden. First a H9 P-40 Warhawk, with E-flight Twist n' turn retracts and a OS 61 FS engine. /sites/3/images/member_albums/75522/447619.jpg Edited By Paul Marsh on 05/07/2013 12:04:43 Beautiful P40 with a fourstroke engine.
