Dwain Dibley.
Yes, I tipped mine up on landing due to a loose leg, grub screw, so check 'Em Ron Lad... ? D.D.
Ron Gray
Oh yes, I remember you saying that happened so will defo double check mine before I fly.
Eric Robson
Hi Ron, I find the biggest problem with the grey cammo on the German aircraft is seeing them. We get more grey skies than blue up here, that's why the Ju88 is in desert colours. The other feature which is not easy on the 110 is the exhausts 2 sets up and 2 down, a 3D program for those would be good.
gillyg1
Eric, the exhausts were supplied with the kit, courtesy of RW.?

Totally agree with you @Eric Robsonand I'm hoping to get the 'Wasp' squadron decals from Glynn so that I can add some yellow to the scheme! Regarding the zorsts, I've printed my own as I will be doing for the machine guns and cockpit details but want to get the maiden out of the way first (and, no, before Paul or Richard ask, she is not blocking the doorway). In the current weather I put my nearly completed Yak 3 outside, and now I can't find it...
Ron Gray
Well the 'big day' is scheduled for tomorrow, so the BF is in the car and ready. I got chance to fix the exhausts to the fuselage and to apply some of the decals but that's as far as I got, well I did give it the first coat of exhaust smudges too oh yeah, I also sprayed in the yellow bits as I think that may well help when I fly it. Printed the MG81Z machine guns (no real details on the stocks as they will be inside the canopy)

Eric Robson
Flew the Ju88 today with a sky the colour of your 110 , it's forecast for better weather from now on so have a good maiden flight and look out for the yellow bits.
Ron Gray
Chose the worst part of the day for the maiden, shame there were no crew in attendance. Edited May 27, 2021 by Ron Gray
Ron Gray
And here is the video of the event, the camouflage is so good the camera had a job focusing on it! Edited May 27, 2021 by Ron Gray

RICHARD WILLS
Blimey , that was test book Ron . Great job . Personally I never thought they would fly . Just goes to show how wrong you can be . I wouldn't buy one myself though .
Ron Gray
Well I didn't think that I could have another warbird that flew as well on its maiden as my Warbirds Replicas LA-7, just shows how wrong you can be it was absolutely superb. I only had 1 more flight with it today for 2 reasons, firstly I took the wrong battery adapters with me and secondly one of the wheels started to bind on the oleo (the wheels weren't new for this model!) so it tended to slew a bit on landing. The only criticism I have is that it is much too quiet but all that will change before next week's planned flights. All I can say is that it is testament to a brilliant design and kit by Richard, thanks mate you made several people very happy today! I suppose I'd better start the next Warbirds Replicas build then. @RICHARD WILLSNow if that was the test book, did I pass? RICHARD WILLS
Yes you passed . I meant text , of course Well that's kind of you Ron . I think we should really thank Sweep and the lads . I'm really just the meet and greet .
Ron Gray
Ah yes, the backroom boys, mustn’t forget them!
RICHARD WILLS
Lets not forget the chaps who create these designs . They might not quite fit normal society . But in our anorak world , they certainly punch above their weight . I'm lucky to have them . Cant imagine how Tony Nijhuis operates without them . Although I do believe Basil Brush helped Brian Taylor with some of his .

Graham R
Well done Ron, just hope mine flies as well as yours does. One question - what is she like at a lower speed as the landing seemed rather fast
john stones 1 - Moderator
Excellent Ron, looked dialed in from the off. ?
Ron Gray
@john stones 1it was John, no trimming required! On the second flight I used lighter batteries and could detect a slight rearward shift in c of g but nothing to worry about. @Graham Rthe landing for the maiden was without flaps but wasn’t an issue even if it was a tad fast. I tried out the flaps on the second flight and at fully deployed they did slow it down but not excessively so, more importantly there was no ‘ballooning’ when they were deployed. I also carried out several low speed passes and it behaved itself but I made sure I had power on when turning! As you can see from the video the BF inspired confidence right from the first turn and I felt totally ‘at home’ with it, on the second flight I practiced dummy torpedo drops which entails flying about 1m off the deck, great fun!

Ron Gray
Time for some jewellery Both rear gunner and pilots are gradually sinking into a bath of oil! Dash printed and fitted (radio operator's dash will come later) The hornet decals added (second attempt as I put them on upside down to start with!!) And the sound system fitted (switch is for the sound system power supply operated by the push rod sticking out of the fuse in the shots above).
