gillyg1
Engines don't have to be matched, just the same brand and type/size, RW will tell you that, i use a tacho, some people just tune/ synch by ear. Try ebay, thats where i get/ buy my engines from, got 5x rcv's, 2xsc 52's , various lazers and tt 54, all 4 strokes, as you can tell i'm an i/c nan.👍

There's not many matched pairs of second hand engines floating around, and there's no chance I'll throw OS/Saito money at a twin. Brand new SCs available now from JPerkins. With support...... few bob more expensive than AliExpress of course, but not hideously so

Futura57
I received the Mortons book today to help me decide on a scheme for my Brian Taylor 110. I'm disappointed there are only fuselage side pictures. No top and bottom wing schemes 😬 https://mortonsbooks.co.uk/book/luftwaffe-fighters-claes-sundin I guess I shall have to look back through the other online references in this thread to find what I need. I could have saved myself £8.99 🙄
leccyflyer
Sorry - I should have mentioned that the profiles are literally that - side profiles. It's quite the usual format - Ospreys Aircraft of the Aces series is side profiles - but just a couple of generic plan views would have been nice too. If it's any consolation the plan view of most in-service aeroplanes show little variation from a set of standard schemes. Personally I thought that £8.99 was a bargain, considering the interesting content.
leccyflyer
Here's a few more profiles, including plan views. https://www.cybermodeler.com/aircraft/bf110/bf110_profile01.shtml https://www.hyperscale.com/2023/reviews/kits/eduard8209reviewbg_1.html https://www.hyperscale.com/2008/reviews/kits/eduardr0005reviewbg_1.htm
leccyflyer
Actually, thinking about it I didn't pay £8.99 for my copy, IIRC it was kindly given to me at the field by @john davidson 1 😎
Paul De Tourtoulon
Two pot polyurethane mat varnish is light and will cover all your paint and stickers, whether it is IC or 'other' power systems, making it look much better. Did someone mention .58 rcv's ?🤢
RICHARD WILLS
Ok chaps . The kits are now being cut . As I said , I will send out the kits first and then follow up with retracts /spinners /props and decals . I may not have all of the items , but will make a good effort . For now , it would be helpful if you could all answer the following . Early or late cowls ? If not bothered I recommend late . Are you going to want decals ? if so which version/aircraft ? The "Wasp " seems rightly popular so the more that choose that , the easier . The retract packs will come later but give me an idea if you are going to want them . I am aiming at £99 per set with wheels , but not finalised yet . Pms to me might be less clogging to the thread .
gillyg1
Hi Richard As you know i'm doing a c/d version, so which ever cowls suit, Yes for a wasp decal set , and yes for a retract package.
Paul Johnson 4
Gents while your waiting, especially the guys new to Richard's designs and want a 110, have a read of the original build thread Bf110 it's a long thread but has lots of info in there. 2
payneib
Me: I'm just going to follow the instructions on this one, not remotely think outside the box and make a nice simple flyer. Also me: give it three engines and a torpedo
Ron Gray
2 of my favourite photos of my 110 expertly clicked by good mate Kev. Just goes to show that a ‘proper’ colour scheme is not essential imo.
leccyflyer
She looks fantastic Ron - not sure what you mean by it not being a proper colour scheme as the only difference I can see between your 110 and the published scheme for the sister aeroplane is that you don/t have what is a very subtle mottle going on - it's barely noticeable. Ron Gray
Yes Brian, it’s the missing mottle effect on the top, missing because I was more than happy with the look as it was!

Elmo ran away when Ron said he was looking for something soft to daub the mottled camouflage on with, he's too young for grey hair. 1 1
