Chris Walby
I'll be there both days, flying might be dependent on what's serviceable in the hanger. 😉
Ron Gray
I will now have to miss OW 😣. The results of a badly fitting rad cap on one of our mowers, a somewhat burnt arm

Jon H
Dont think you are going to miss much Ron as the weather looks awful. Might as well rest up and try for September.
Ron Gray
I’m a bit gutted as I was planning on flying the Hurri which I think is now fettled and does fly rather well with the 200 in-line. Still, as you say Jon, there is September’s do and I’m hoping that I may have the D VII for that. Edited July 18, 2023 by Ron Gray
Nick Cripps
Oh that's bad news, Ron, hope you recover quickly. I've booked camping for the weekend and was looking forward to flying the RV-4 there. The forecast seemed pretty good a couple of days ago when I looked, let's hope it changes again before the weekend.
kc
Ron, that seems very unfortunate - especially if you were mowing the clubs strip. It could help others to avoid something similar if you explained a bit more how it happened.
leccyflyer
Sorry to see that Ron - get well soon Sir!
Ron Gray
27 minutes ago, kc said: explained a bit more how it happened It would appear that the rad cap was not a very good fit! The mower started cutting out due to over heating so I opened the engine cover to clean out the sliding dust shield from the front of the rad. I must have knocked the rad cap when putting it back and it shot off covering my left arm with rather hot water!
kc
Thanks Ron - a lesson for us all - get the right rad cap! I wish you a speedy recovery and see you at the September Old Warden.
Ron Gray
It’s not something that I thought to check on the mower, or any other water cooled engine for that matter! Not a bad night’s sleep but woke up to find this 🤮

I once had a burn blister in the middle of my back as a teenager whilst on holiday abroad.. when lanced, the liquid inside was so hot, it actually scolded the rest of my back !!.. so be careful buddy. Wishing you a speedy recovery Edited July 19, 2023 by extra slim mistype
