Graham Davies 3
42 minutes ago, Piers Bowlan said: Great looking model Graham. Respect! Sorry to hear about your unfortunate rapid arrival due to control issues. As it is the second time this has happened it is likely a common cause? Did you use the same motor ESC in both models or if a separate RX battery, the same battery? Whether a complete loss of control or slow servos with glitching, both could point to a problem with the power supply with Rx and servos. Two duff Rx? Probably not very likely. Just my 2p worth. I agree Piers; it could be any one of a number of possible causes. Truth is, we could discuss this at great length here and may or may not reach a conclusion. I will do a load of logical tests here and try to find a smoking gun. Otherwise, the ESC will also be on the naughty step and will go into the bin! I don't want to name names because without a specific cause, it will create more heat than light and may result in someone doubting their own gear unnecessarily. Also, we will quickly get off topic! Appreciate all of the kind comments regarding the model. It certainly doesn't look how I always expected foamboard models to look, and flew very well. More will follow, if I can find the room! 3
Rich Griff
Fair comment on the radio gear. I suspect it may be s..., as long as it's not rl or f stuff I will rest easy. Stay safe out there... 1

That's if I have joined the dots correctly. rl radio link? and we all know the s. I hope this is not the start of a brand bashing series of posts, I thought we had grown out of that a long time ago. Paul De Tourtoulon
Probably 95% + of so called radio problems comes from the power supply to the receiver, cheap controllers with BEC doesn't help,,,

Peter Miller
A perfect afternoon and Stuart Pickett brought up two models models. Ace
My Gyroo which is still to be test hoped and trimmed. The head is an old HKC30 I bought to build a Crane Fly which never happened - so it's taken a good few years to get into Autogyro's

leccyflyer
A few shots of my Flair Magnatilla on her maiden flight a couple of weeks ago. I'd fitted the jokey German pilot with a high backed wickerwork seat, sitting high up in the slipstream, but I really don't like how that looks. He'll be treated to some body reduction surgery very soon and have a much more comfortable position. Photo credits Derek Robertson. Thanks Derek!.

Roy Thompson
The latest build from my workshop, a take on the Mini Skyman from a Bowman’s model kits plan. We’ve made a few changes to the original for starts the Cox049 has been replaced with a home brew brushless motor hidden under a resins printed dummy 049. The other change is I’ve added ailerons to the main wing and reduced the dihedral. So apart from the battery hatch the rest of the model is built to the plan. Being a model from the 80’s it needed an 80’s scheme, which hopefully works. All that’s needed now is for the wind to play ball, and we will see if the 60W from my old motor will cut the mustard.

stu knowles
From an original by Roger Bale, circa 1998, to this:- # I wonder what happened?? To this 121 " span, zenoah 80 power and 38lbs! Strictly non aerobatic, it 'preambulates with purpose' The flag can be raised in flight and the Nav raises his hand to the onlooker In terms of storage and transport, its a bit of a monster!
