tigerman
Fed Ex have given me the worst problems. So far no parcel has arrived on time. They lost one parcel completly and their Customer service is abosolutly rubbish. That if you can find someone to talk to!!!!!!!! Their tracking is a complete joke Why oh why do Motion RC continue to use them Edited April 29, 2022 by Martin Harris - Moderator Removed unsubstantiated observation
leccyflyer
Agreed on Fedex tracking tracking being useless. I ordered a model from Motion RC on 11th April - first of all had to pay a 20 Euro shipping surcharge for living in Scotland - not out in the wilds by any means, but Scotland. The tracking said delivery 14th April - great. My wife waited in all day, no parcel. Updated tracking that night said delivery would be before 6pm on Thursday 21st April - the shipment sat in CgG in Paris for several days. Waited for the shipment all day yesterday. Nothing. Update came after the event still in France, but delivery by 6pm today. Update this morning, parcel arrived Stanstead last night, arrived Newcastle this morning, delivery by 6pm today. Waited in all day. Nothing - except an invoice for VAT, handling charge etc. Update after the event again -still in Newcastle, delivery to be before 6pm on Monday. tigerman
It just go from bad to worse with Fed Ex. Been told they can not give me a delivery date on my parcel any more because it is stuck in France A call to Pay Pal again to get my money back Come on Motion RC dump Fed Ex and get a courier who can deliver a parcel with out loosing it
Paul De Tourtoulon
It's the french president Macron fault, you are still paying for Brexit,,,
Don Fry
Blaming Mr Macron, is as logical, as blaming Mr Johnson. Delivery of parcels from the EU is complicated. There are barriers, because the UK left the customs union. There is a shortage of people who understand the new barriers. Don't cross the barrier until it settles down, or death occurs, whatever comes first. And a couple of years in, in fairness, how long does it take to learn this truth. The UK left. Live with it. Times change. Move on. Buy elsewhere.
cymaz
Fed Ex has bought out TNT. I know and have spoken to a TNT driver. Fed Ex have treated some of the drivers as bad as P&O. The only thing is to ring up the shop when placing the order and asking for an alternative carrier or you’ll take your business elsewhere. Frank Skilbeck
The other option would be for Motion RC to register for UK VAT, then goods would be shipped with minimal customs clearance required. But it would increase Motion RCs paperwork.

If the parcel is being shipped by FedEx it is them that are responsible (as the importer) for the correct application of import taxes and duties and I rather think they would already have all that sorted out following Brexit. If you take a look at MotionRC's website you will see they ship worldwide via FedEx International Ground OR economy shipping, if Tigerman had his order shipped by 'Economy' I would have expected a bit more of a problem......Nope...I reckon FedEx just lost it! Sparks
I have had several deliveries of PCB's (printed circuit boards) from China via FedEx and they have all arrived promptly. Generally leaving China mainland on Monday/Tuesday and being delivered on Friday morning the same week. Just saying....
Simon Chaddock
China have been exporting to the UK for ages so perhaps those involved understand what is required and what works even if delivery can be slow.

Yes, I was just saying that if Motion RC registered to collect the UK VAT, like Bangood in China have, then the goods can be sent with no further duty/tax to pay, so there is no hold up in customs. BTW my last order from Bangood came via Hermes and it arrived very smoothly.

leccyflyer
Order eventually arrived today, same day shipping, but took 14 days to deliver. Arrived in perfect condition, packaging and quality of the model is superb, but the courier leaves a lot to be desires, which I have detailed in their follow-up Feedback form. tigerman
Still waiting on my parcel. It has been stuck at Charles De Gualle airport now for 8 days. Fed Ex are just not up to it. Can not go through this again. Motion RC really need to change there courier but I do not think Motion RC are really interested in the UK market so are not that bothered about the problem

john davidson 1
The workers receive pennies for each delivery, an acquaintance of mine left a long time job because he was bored, got a demo week with a driver who was happy but then as a newbie he was landed with a poor round which was so bad he asked for his old job back and was told it no longer existed ! Zflyer
Fed Ex are expensive as well €229 delivery from the Netherlands for a kit. Not paying that.

And no doubt helped close many model shops - a couple of years back I found I could buy a couple of 11x5 props cheaper from China inc post for less than the cost of postage alone for 1 prop from an English model shop! Instead of paying for couriers one might consider booking a cheap last minute flight and collecting in person or even a weekend away! Beware the excess baggage charges though. Geoff S
4 hours ago, Jon - Laser Engines said: I find this worryingly accurate I suppose we're lucky because our regular RM postman lives close by and has been on the round some years. He knows to knock on my workshop door if there's no answer at the back door (we don't use the front at all). He's brilliant. We're usually lucky with others too. I now no longer buy from the EU simply because it's so uncertain. A lot of the outlets supplying our specialist needs are fairly small and, as they have a huge market on their doorstep with no paper work needed, it's hardly surprising that they're really not particularly interested in our offshore island with its relatively small customer base. If so i think the postage charge now includes the UK VAT so its pre paid before entry into the uk. I bought a mustang from bigplanes while we were still in and shipping was 30 quid or so. Now, same kit postage is over 200 but if you do the sums it all adds up when you include the VAT. so it might not be so bad as you would be paying that VAT anyway but it might be worth contacting the seller to ask if that really is the case. If not then i would leave it where it is!
Zflyer
Thanks Jon. I have been fortunate however in that the model I wanted I have now secured used here in UK.
Jonathan W
Surely the worst courier award goes to Evri (formerly Hermes). They can't get it right even within the UK, never mind coming from overseas. I wish people would not send stuff by this service. It's so much hassle for the recipient when items vanish into the national hub only to emerge a week later, or local delivery depots lose items and the tracking just stops showing any further updates. I'm having problems with about 20% of deliveries and the time wasted either waiting in for non-delivery or chasing it up is barely worth it.
